There is no such thing as real Ray bans , the company was closed in the 90s , now all sun glasses are made by Luxottica

My replicas even has all the logos and stickers, tags, made in italy ,code numbers etc, for $20.00 I can't complain about them and my aviators looks good on me.

Only problem, your replicas aren't actually blocking the UVs and at the same time the dark lenses dilate your pupils and damage your eyes. But other than that, cool!!!

Yes what about the etched RB can you see it more clear on a fake pair almost like you can feel it.

What about nose pads? I often see opposite direction of the RB logo on each nose pad. Shouldn’t they be facing the same way?

i find the high dollar sunglasses not much or no better optically than many of the lower priced ones. i do find that the high dollar names put more attention into the frames, especially the hinges.

If you're not buying a new pair, it can be extremely difficult to notice the differences. I suggest to try to scratch all the white letters with your fingernails, in a fake pair the letters will disappear almost instantly.

my real pair that ive had for years the white lettering as all scratched off over time. i just got a pair of good fakes and the white letters will not scratch off with my fingernail

Basically it's impossible to tell unless you can compare side by side unless you by from an authorised seller.

I bought clubmasters in 55mm at an authorized dealer but they didnt have the temple size on the nose bridge yet it did have it on one of the sides is this common in authentic clubmasters

Hey Ricardo! Yes, totally normal. The location of the model, color, and sizing can vary by style. For a Clubmaster, the temple length should be listed on the inner temple so yours sounds perfect!

How about you talk about the monopoly on sunglasses.... aka Luxotica...they also saved Ray Ban back in the day. But Luxotica is the culprit for high prices

Hi! Need your help! Bought Highstreet in one of approved by Ray Ban stores in my country, but I have thoughts that this is fake. Maybe you can tell me if it's possible that hinge in original glasses could be extremely tight, so I just scared to move temple of glasses. Also the cloth wasnt usual for Ray Ban, it wasn't gray with accurate logo, it was bigger and had different color. Are there different variants of cloth or it is always the same?

Hi Alice! If you purchased from an authorized dealer, you will have authentic Ray-Bans. It is a bit odd that the hinges are so tight that you find it concerning so I would suggest reaching out to the retailer for an adjustment. As for the cloth, it may have changed over the years and is easily reproduced so I wouldn't recommend judging the authenticity of your frames on the cloth. Hope this helps!

I work at a return center for a different company and I can tell you that we don’t check all products that are returned for authenticity so anyone can return a fake product in place of the authentic one and then they are resold as new... I’ve also noticed they don’t check the authenticity at Macy’s locations when I returned a G-Shock watch... so there is that

The worse experience than buying fake raybans, is buying them at the price of originals.

Hello! Not usually for ophthalmic lenses (clear, not tinted). The lenses used may be of a different brand other than RayBan, but are still under the luxottica banner of lenses, so the quality is the same. However, the RayBan frame is more than likely authentic Ray-Ban if purchased through lenscrafters.

I recently bought on Offerup a pair of supposed Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Classic sunglasses for 60 bucks, new with the box, and in the listing, it showed a receipt of proof of purchase from Sunglass Hut. What was supposed to be my first experience in owning Ray-Ban sunglasses, turned out to be my first taste of owning Fake-Ban's 😅😅. After I received them, it dawned on me the possibility that they were counterfeit, after all, the price was too good to be true. After watching this video, it confirmed my suspicion. But the quality of the counterfeit is top-notch, so is very hard to tell if they are fake, especially for a noob like me.

The most difficult aviators to replicate are the ones with light gradient lenses. They have everything cloned perfectly, however when you test the lenses for UV protection you will find that they won't pass a simple UV test using a hand held UV meter. A significant amount of UV pass thru the lenses. For this reason I won't take a chance with this type of lens from sources on eBay or other 3rd party sellers. I will always buy direct from the source or an authorized dealer for these type of lenses. If you can find a pair of clones that are UV protected then more power to you. Most likely in standard or flash lenses but in my experience the gradient lenses always fail a UV protection test.

Just bought some fake Ray Bans outdoorsman 2. They look so damn original with all the markings and everything. The letters on the frame look so good that you can not tell if they’re fake or not. However, when you hold them in your hands, you can feel the difference. The box is fake af and everything else looks fake. My whole idea was to replace the lenses for some original RB lenses,because i love the black frame on 62mm and RB doesn’t make them on black, only on 58. Don’t know if they fit or not, but i’ll try to do some Frankenstein RB 😂

Guess i have an old Ray Ban cuz it doesn't have made in Italy on the top Edit : The optics is damn good , I've dropped of and it's scratched to hell on the front face but when i put it on it's clear, Tip : Get it with glass lens it'll hol up scratched very well and just feels crisp to the eyes as like cold to the eyes than the other materials

Hello! Ray-Ban manufactures in both Italy and China so that is not cause for concern! It sounds like you purchased directly from the Ray-Ban Australia site which in that case, there is no need to question authenticity :)

I have an original pair of Bausch and Lomb Ray Ban predators. I bought them in 1995 and they have been excellent glasses. I broke the frames today. The lenses are still almost perfect. I can't believe how well these lenses have resisted scratching. Could you tell me if I can somehow get replacement frames to put my lenses in?

Hi! Rob is wearing the Ray-Ban RB2132 New Wayfarer 58 eyesize in black rubber. He turned them into eyeglasses with clear lenses!

I bought some rayban glasses at the optician Pearl in the netherlands. It says they are a certified Rayban reseller. But on mine there is no text 'Made in Italy' these are no sunglasses tho so is this the reason? Or do all rayban glasses have to have made in italy or china?

Hi Ryan! Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about your frames. No, that isn't a normal issue to have on Ray-Ban frames. You could possibly try loosening the screws or applying a very small amount of WD-40 just at the squeaky parts. Hope this helps!

Hi Chito! Yes, Ray-Ban prescription glasses do come with a different case than the sunglasses. Glasses come with a hard clamshell case while the sunglasses come with the softer button closure case.

Hi! I’ve had 2 pairs of RB3293 67mm aviators. My current pair says they’re made in China, the cases are entirely different than yours in shape and material. My cases have a matted logo along with a matted, more smoother finish for the case itself. This is an older model, I bought my first pair in 2009 and my second in 2016 and the latter pair took me calling all around the country trying to find them! I am buying some on eBay, and what I’m looking at is identical to my own pair…BUT…the case looks like your “authentic case” pictured in the video. My big question is to ask you how I can find these second hand, maybe what is the most trusted retailer of secondhand Ray Bans? If Ray Ban still sold them I wouldn’t be here :). If they made other comfortable glasses for people with giant domes, same. Thank you for the help!

Hello! We unfortunately don't know any authentic retailers for second hand RayBan frames as most are sold by private individuals online from sites like Ebay. You can sometimes find some old quality frames at local flea markets or swap meets as well.

Aye I got some cat eye non prescription ray bans the logo is on the left bottom lens . It has r.b on the nose pad . Everything checks out from what I know can you help me are they fake ?

Hi Eddie! Yes, technically a sticker should come on the lenses but those stickers easily fall off so I wouldn't judge the authenticity of a frame solely based on the sticker. I've seen frames without them and they're still authentic!

There's in amazon japan posted it says domestic genuine. What does it mean? Why cant say genuine?

What does the "K" stand for on the right arm of Ray Ban RB2140? The side that says "hand made in Italy"...been trying to get an answer and so far all I've found is that it's the type of frame it is and stands for Karat cause it has gold? lol

Hi Brian! This is a great question and it's no surprise that you had difficulty finding an answer! That letter after "Made in Italy" can vary. While you're correct that "K" typically stands for karat, in this case, it is probably just a coding for which factory manufactured it. A little less exciting but a genuine Ray-Ban marking nonetheless :)

I was about to buy Ray-Ban sunglasses at America's Best eyewear but not sure these are real Ray-Bans. The plastic frame on the New Wayfarer seemed cheap and the temple arm was not smooth, but the plastic was sort of pock-marked. I didn't buy them in the end. Don't know if America's Best buys sloppy seconds or counterfeit, they do not make prescription sunglasses with the Ray-Ban logo on the front.

I just ordered & received a Ray-Ban Clubmaster RB3016 in 51mm lenses. The weight & quality looks & feels legit, but it has a vintage-looking nose pads. Kind of like a Himalayan pink salt color looking nose pads. I ordered it from Macy’s store in person with a dealer & they had it shipped to my house. It does not have clear nosepads. So are mine fake? It was shipped from Macy’s wear house in Georgia, U.S. They costed me $230.

Hi! More than likely they are not fake, but a local optician should be able to confirm their authenticity, plus you can easily replace the nose pads for a different set at most optical shops.

Hello! If purchased from Sunglass Hut then they're likely legitimate. The details rubbing off could be a manufacturer's defect or the result of a chemical applied to the material, like cleaning solution. However, that can happen over time through general wear and tear.

Hi Samantha! That's a normal feature on Ray-Ban eyeglasses. Those lenses are meant to be replaced with prescription lenses so that's why you're seeing the black logo on the lens!

You got the cheap examples. I have genuine rayban wayfarer and I could not tell the difference between a pair I bought online . They weren’t sold as fakes, they were just sold. As rayban type sunglasses . Metal hinges in the corner smooth strong opening. And the classic 7 tilt, I must say, if I made these I’d be very bothered about replicas being made. Lenses glass, the whole thing. I had to put a sticker in my real case just so we don’t get them mixed up lol. The replica Industry is huge

Another thing I've noticed is that on all the authntic ones the RB logo on each nose pad is painted in white and looks very sharp. On the fakes the RB logo is not painted white and left clear with metal background. Take a look and see if this is true.

All three of my Aviator’s nose pads is not clear color. They look old. Is that ok?

Hello! Yes, all Ray-Ban glasses should have a Made in Italy/China stamp somewhere on the frame. You can find this on the interior temple or the interior bridge. If it is a metal double bridge frame, it may even be stamped on the top of the highest bridge piece. Hope this helps!

@@sportrxeyewear Mines does say Made in Italy on the inside of the right arm but not on top of the nose bridge, and they are not aviators but square lenses. Should i be worried? also i got a black cloth instead of grey, does Ray-Ban offer black cloths as well?

All of that sounds very normal! The location of the "Made in" stamp depends on the style. An interior temple is definitely a traditional spot for it. As for the cloth, yes there are black too! Typically, the eyeglasses come with black cloths. In addition to this, you mentioned that you purchased from an authorized dealer so everything sounds genuine :)

Hey are Ray Ban that are made in China fake or real? It has all the real qualities like weight of the lens the serial numbers the arms everything but it says made in China not Italy. Does that mean they're fake?

Hi Jordan! Ray-Ban manufactures in both Italy and China so authentic styles will reflect one of those two countries. Yours sounds like the real deal :)

Hey guys... I bought some prescription glasses.. and what I noticed is that my ray bans don't say where they're from it just has the Ray-Ban T CE(symbol) everything else matches as authentic but do all ray bans have the "from Italy or the from China" ??? Please help !

Hi Johnny! The frames usually note where they were made from. What is the model of your frame? It's also best to make sure you purchased the glasses from an authorized dealer.

I gotten my hands on a 25 year old pair of ray-bans that I have inherited from my mother who had inherited them from a friend. But how am I supposed to know if it's real or not when it's 25 years old?

They have a B & L inscription on the edge of each lens and on the nosepiece there is written 'B & L Ray-Ban USA' I can also see the reflection of my eyes.

Hi Bastian! What a great frame with a history! Vintage sunglasses are much harder to tell although it does seem counterfeit products have become more precedent over time. A 25 year old frame would have less chance of being a knockoff compared to one from today. I wish I had specific details to point out but Bausch & Lomb Ray-Bans were a bit before our time. Personally, I'd recommend looking online for pictures of your same frame! This might help you compare more accurately.

This video is no use, not helpful. Basically unless you work and open up enough real ones you can’t tell.

Yep, haha. Good to know though. "They're getting really good at making fake Ray bans", that's all I need to know. These products are rarely worth the price these companies charge. You're paying for brand most of the time. Plus I've bought 'fakes' that have come from the same factory or a factory that imitates almost like for like the real thing, some times the material is just as good. I bought a lens filter for three quarters the price from a Chinese seller and compared it to my friends genuine filter and it worked and was packaged exactly the same.

There is no such thing as real Ray bans , the company was closed in the 90s , now all sun glasses are made by Luxottica

I bought a pair from Amazon and it was full price but I realized it was sold from eyeglasses-123. Is it fake?

If you're going to pay full price, just buy them off the Ray Ban website. They'll run promos there, that even big retailers don't - especially on custom options.

@@couldntthinkofagoodnamesoi8357 This! Exactly this. Got 25% off frames and 50% off lenses from the ray-ban website. Went crazy and bought 3 different pairs. Wayfarer, State Street and Nomad. They didn't even charge tax. They are definitely the way to go.

I had been wanting a pair of Olympian’s, went to sunglasses hut and found a gold pair of olympian 2,s they say made in Italy so I think I got the real thing, they also have numbers on inside of temple arms. Thanks great video. Subscribed.

I bought real rayban aviators from a rayban store. But when I pointed a UV light flashlight unto the lens with a money bill at the back, the security features of the money can be totally seen. So, are the real rayban aviators not UV protected? Man, I need your input on this. Thanks

Rx Frames are made in China and Most sunglasses frames are made in Italy.

I got mine from my optometrist I've been with for the last 10 years . Thank God. It's the same with watches . Omega fakes are really getting good. I hate fakes . I worked hard for my money. It took me a few years to save for my rolex. Now I someone can get a fake one in Hong Kong. Wtf .

I bought some ray bans from a glasses store in Mongolia for $40 and gotta say they look and feel legit.

I'm not convinced. I have a nice pair of fakes with nice lenses. I had them tested and they are 100% UV protected. Only cost me $25 from Cina. I'm considering buying a couple more pairs from the same seller. I just don't feel like it's worth an additional $150 to know that they are "authentic".

I wanna get fake ones for like $20 or less for a project movie where the actor smashes the sunglasses

I know only one thing even it's $5 pair from convenience store it definitely will protect you eyes from UV. This price tag all about quality of the parts and advertisement costs.

i got prescription ray ban eyeglasses, to be honest they felt really thin and cheap flimsy, so i returned them straight away, i hope i can get my refund. really bad. ill be ordering from the official website for sure, no dealers

Licensed retailers, like SportRx, provide authentic RayBan items but it's good to check the return policy just in case! There are also many authentic RB's made with different materials that may feel 'flimsy' to some if the picture that helped make the decision to purchase gave the impression that the product is heavier or denser than what was received. Always a good idea to try on first before purchase if one can!

How do I prevent Ray Ban logo from fading over time?

On the frame or lens? It's uncommon for the frame logo to fade, but the logo stamp on the lens is subject to fading over time with standard wear and tear. You can help prolong the logo by reducing pressure when cleaning over that particular spot on the lens as well as keeping them in the case and not exposed to UV light when not in use.

Hi Karina! If you purchased from the official Ray-Ban store, then your sunglasses will absolutely be genuine. We've seen sunglasses come without a sticker so I wouldn't worry about that missing from it :)
