As an ISFP I definitely feel misunderstood and an outcast. I both desire friendships and feel that people are that "outside friction" that interferes with my desires to live in the moment. That part where you said I get along with almost everyone but never had a close friend is very me it’s a struggle of being an ISFP but I think we value that. it’s part of our individualism we’d like to have a close friend but at the same time we know we don’t exactly fit the mold so we’ve just learned to accept it.

As an ISFP, I can't think or plan for a future no matter how hard I try, besides imagining myself following phases and paths considered "mandatory" for other people, as a rule, setting expectations I never wanted and following plans that everyone expects me to follow, It makes me very insecure and afraid of my future... I have an immense desire to find something that I'm passionate about doing, or that brings me will and determination, something that I think "I want to do this for the rest of my life" or "I really love doing this", while I don't find it, I continue ignoring the future lol

As an ISFP I can understand why in my early days I often got misunderstood by my parents and everybody around me by doing what I think is fun. I often wander around the woods and observe the surroundings and because of that I get scolded or get beat up by my parents, I often do not respect my parent's uneccesary strict rules and I really despite when I felt manipulated by others. The fact that I found my parents very manipulative is because they set standards to myself often comparing me to other sons/daughter's achievement. Now I can understand why being an ISFP is so exhausting because I realized the world is very manipulative 😢 so I think as ISFP our best strength is our independence, seeking attentions and validation is a big mistake, we should connect more with our selves, do what is necessary to do and be more attentive on the manipulation of your surroundings, trust me we are not wrong it's just the world want's us to put in a box and be their puppets. We are supposed to be the Lone Wolves of society, the escapees of the matrix. I felt bad for some comments saying they felt bad for being ISFP. Don't feel bad for yourselves. "I say stop being perfect, let's evolve, let the chips fall where they may".

I know an ISFP who is an amazing illustrator and artist. He has a very definite sense of clean aesthetic that I can appreciate and seems surprisingly organized in his workspace for his type. He's difficult to really get to know but very easy going most of the time. When we meet with a diverse group of friends, certain topics like politics and religion are avoided and he is fine with that as he can be very opinionated which doesn't always end well with some others in the group. We have found it easiest to invite him but never expect him to show and never be judgmental on when he doesn't which has worked wonders for group cohesion. Overall he is very creative, easy going and perceptive. He prefers discussions to be more centered on current events and people, and less on the abstract.

They dress so well, just to begin with, and move so well and are so classy. I’ve FINALLY realised I’m actually an ISFP. Due to a lot of trauma I’ve built up an ENTJ shell to protect and preserve my gentle, creative core. Because I’m doing this, I’m going precisely against my inner voice, I have felt lost and as though I am continuously betraying myself - because I am. I have suppressed Fi in a really unhealthy manner, to the point that I find it easier to talk to others (therapist) about my own feelings than I do admitting my feelings to myself. I have felt like a character, trying on different identity costumes (phases like this had me convinced for a while I was an INTP) but I’m not naturally as neurologically-charged as NT types, which makes maintaining the ENTJ shell that much more exhausting. Unfortunately, I’ve been suffering intense psychological abuse so becoming an outspoken, “emotionless” droid has been my only way to cope. I am also very easily overstimulated with sensory things (am diagnosed autistic), so the idea of minimalism has always appealed to me. Having said that, I can create some of the most detailed artwork that I’ve ever seen. But I really hate harsh criticism - not because I’m sensitive, but because it reflects that which _is_ me and to (unnecessarily) harshly criticise my artwork is to pick apart at me as a person. Yes that does sound like I’m being sensitive, but it’s just a boundary I couldn’t cross with other people, whether their endeavours were creative, logical or practical. Oh. I guess that _is_ being sensitive… oops 😅

Woaah finally it's ISFP turn :'v I love how you describe us without focusing too much on our sad artistic side. What we are is just simply ppl who have strong values but respects other's differences. I have a best friend who is an INTJ, being himself he usually makes lots of dark jokes. I normally laugh it off and try to understand that it's just the way he talk, and he doesn't mean any harm. But there was 1 time he accidentally tapped on a topic that I have very very strong opinions on, and I just suddenly snapped, we were walking tgt, I just turned my head and walked the opposite direction. He was taken aback and very surprised of this intense side of mine. He said it was the first time he felt so flustered and tried to apologize to someone hahah~

I usually never get angry. I really hate confrontations. None of my friends have ever seen me snap and get furious. But there was one time a coworker I had decent chemistry with revealed that she was racist. I tried to reason with her, but she's an ENTJ and got debatable with me. I felt that was not something to debate about and snapped there and got seriously pissed. Fun times. Haven't heard her say the N-word since though.

Since I was a child I have been aware that I move towards humans most others avoid and move away from humans that most others move towards. So yes you get that feeling that you are an outsider looking in. I have never felt unsafe, insecure or uncomfortable in my decisions and saying that there was this small inner voice asking why specifically do I do that. Yes in life I do attract some of the most toxic people they believing that I am easy prey because they see I am socially isolated they are completely clueless that it is self imposed. You have no idea how many bullies misjudged me when they realized that I was not waiting for them I was the hunter and they were my prey. I saw shock, disbelief and real fear in their eyes. I like to think that maybe I changed them to healthier behaviours towards others.

In my experience, you are correct..until you set or enforce a boundary with them. They view those limits as you stomping on their individuality, and will revolt against you. If you have a different value than them, they take it as a personal attack on their values. They are also very envious of our extroversion, considering it as a sign that there is something wrong with them. They often resort to snide comments, and passive aggressiveness to try to emotionally punish ENFPs for simply being different from them. Very charismatic and charming, people person, whose shy at times and intimidated by people at first encounters. Tend to want people to like them, fantastic at captivating audiences with their witty charm, when they're relaxed around people. Creativity and being artistic, seems to come easy to them. Fantastic writers and good at debating, yet they can be walking dictionaries, and encyclopedias on random topics they enjoy, due to their love for consuming information and constant learning Fi/Se. Come off as intelligent people due to there amazing people skills, makes friends easy and is loved by all typically, if you ever go out of your way get to know them. Yes you might have to chase them down, they like to be hermits at times... Just dont expect them to compete anything, or possibly start a new thing, they are massive procrastinators, they tend to half do everything they do. Usually perfectionists, highly critical of themselves, refuse to cut any corners on processes due to their perfectionism. The slow way is the best way for an ISFP! They are the snail in the race, slow and steady, hence why they rarely start or complete tasks, too much work they'll say, rather give up before they start. Fantastic at counseling all inferior Fi users on how to be emotionally aware of others, tend to love/admire Te users due to their own inferior Te. Have terrible long term memories, expect them to never learn from previous mistakes, due to not remembering them. They will debate you over them instead, saying black and blue they never heard of it before or done this or that. Which they seemed to have forgotten all about... once again... can become a broken record of continuous bad ideas causing problems in their life without an Si user to remind them of past experiences. I'm an ESTJ and my brothers an ISFP

Good content - I feel they're stoic on the outside but would like it if someone noticed that they were trying hard too and acknowledged their efforts without making a spectacle of it. I feel that ISFPs so want to be "not a burden to anyone" that they end up managing their things all by themselves. But deep inside they'd like someone to create safe structures for them too. I guess that's why the ISFP and ESTJ get along well? My child is an ISP I think. I'm an ENFP. So this is my guess about her. Can some bonafide ISFP confirm?

I’ve certainly have had to combat that feeling, and probably always will. I think you’re 100% right on being more stoic outside while it’s different inwards, it can feel like such an intense emotional rollercoaster but it’s difficult to express that. And often I would feel embarrassed if I had 😅 Ig vulnerability isn’t easy for everyone tho, but having really supportive and reliable friends and family has made it much easier and I appreciate them all for that. If ya kid is by chance an isfp it may take a while before they start expressing their thoughts and such (this is mostly cause we’re figuring things out for ourselves about ourselves and that takes time). But they’ll eventually share once they’ve thought it through enough and are comfortable with doing so Well.. Comfortable enough to try anyways And as time goes on and you stay reliable and assuring, or a great person to jump thoughts off with you’ll start getting some fun new ideas that haven’t been fully explored but sparked This was a tangent brought to by an isfp! Hoped it helped?

Fi-doms must be easy to spot - as an INTJ, I may have higher Te and thus be more occupationally-inclined, but maybe an even bigger difference between them and I is that for me, finding an occupation that matches my Fi doesn't work! 😮 It may be shocking, but people take one look at me and can tell instantly that I'm not an Fi-dom... I can be telling them about my passions, and they will look at me like, "Pull the other leg." I suspect Fi is a very non-competitive function though, and it doesn't seem to me to be built for or to work well under competitive expectations, which I think means that at it's best it can render an element of much-needed peace!👏

One thing i think you should include in future isfp content is they're potential for actually actively despising people who both promote a lack of individuality and people who dont repeat a trend or whatever out of genuine value but out of a lack of reflection and an addiction to validation. I find myself in video games coming across the same copied player over and over, in music i hear nothing but blatant lying and self limiting, i watch movies and see the pretentiousness and lack of respect for the intelligence of the audience, and i actually to some peoples surprise actively am irritated by the glorification of stupidity and lack of care. I dont mean scientific knowledge, education or even studying philosophy, i mean generally being observant and reflective. I dont think it should just "be my personality", just the same as i gotta te and even ti at times, you all need to look inward and just stop for a second sometimes. I am a believer in individuality, but i absolutely despise those who actively limit eachother and themselves in my American society, i clearly see culture and individuality being supplemented and rendered novel and arbitrary on purpose and even manipulating culture intentionally to sell products and make people subconsciously feel validated by an authority out of a desire not to control, but generate money and products from. They arent even under "control" they are given the illusion of control through subscribing to belief "sets" and acting like its "individuality" and it really twists my guts up and makes me sick. I have no friends because i feel genuine fear of people.

My two cents ( from an INTJ -&- Capricorn sun, Aquarius rising, Aries moon ) 1) Every one of us has all of the functions. 2) Our socialization process influences quite a bit of how we develop, so two people of the same type might manifest differently. Some feelers might appear as thinkers, due to high Te/Ti in their household, for example. 3) Most definitely…astrology gives us a more granular look at a person. MBTI only tells us “what” a person is, while astrology explains the “why.” 👉 If you haven’t already, check out JOYCE MENG’s channel, where she does Type Talks. You get to see an entire panel of the same type, sometimes (depending on how they’re comprised), and see just how different they can be. They’ll reference their enneagram type, astrology, upbringing, or other factors that they believe have contributed to who they are. (And then there are some types, like ISTJs, who are more of a monolith…lol.)

A lot of these things are common among people with strong Fi in general, plus INFPs are also often artistic and aesthetically oriented. However, as an INFP, I am slow to take action and spend more time living in the Ne world of ideas than in the physical world. I don't believe in astrology, so can't comment on that.

U probably won't see my comment but you guys share the same first and last function so there's definitely similarities. Half your functions are the same as ISFPs!

I get acquainted with people but i never had really close friends, groups, or even someone I'd call a best friend. I am familiar with a lot of people, but i dont seem to know them deeply. (and vice versa)

you're damn right. great example would be mike tyson, he's clearly isfp, he's gentle and fun and caring, but he can be a beast and a destroyer and stand for what he believes is right. he's been mistyped as istp for to long.
