I don't know if it's just me but how her hood covers part of her mouth in the bootleg makes her look a lot cuter, along with how her hair doesn't go over it ^^;

This was super helpful! But people should also remember to never feel ashamed if you prefer to buy bootlegs, cause either you can't afford normal ones, or you prefer a cheaper price, etc. So anyone who buys bootlegs shouldn't ever feel ashamed!

@@victorp8689 first of all i don't support bootleg(all my pvc,figma,nendo,gundam are original),but i can understand when people buy the bootleg just for saving their money,for example my friend is a one piece fan,he want to collect many one piece figure but he don't want to waste much money for that so he buy the bootleg,the most important for him is the figure can be display in his room and don't care about the quality,not all collector anime figure are rich,many of them don't wanna to spend much money just for figure and save their money for the other thing which is more important,well it depends on your wallet,if you care about the quality(like me),please save your money and buy the original,but if you want to save the money,just wanna something cool to display on your room,and don't care about the quality,you can buy the bootleg actually good smile can report the bootleg company,just like bandai report dragon momoko and daban for making knockoff gundam,but as long as the bootleg factory didn't give much effect to the good smile sale,they won't report it yet

I have only gotten one bootleg. But I fully knew she was a bootleg. It was the miku #33. I found her at a thrift store for a buck with all of her pieces. I ended up repainting her for fun. Sadly she is my ugly step child out of all my other miku Nendos. Lol.

That's sounds like fun, what I did for my fake petites was to spray paint them solid metallic silver or gold and add a key chain, some actually were fooled and thought they were made out of metal from first glance

Great video. The price is also a dead giveaway. I just ordered the Tony ver. Megurine Luka figure by Max Factory which is about $110 whereas the Chinese bootlegs on eBay go for like 35 or 40 USD.

I got my first nendoroid for $49 (Sasuke #707) and it seems to fit the criteria for being a genuine. It wasn’t on eBay but on a site that I find very reliable.

Nicholas Rivera Well I believe it's because of the rarity of them and don't forget the overall cuteness. Lol but I see what you mean some of them are very rare so the price is jacked up on them but then good smile does a re-release of them and the price eventually goes down a little bit. These figures are also in short supply and a lot of demand so that's another reason why the price is so high. 😩 witch sucks for people would don't have deep pockets. 😋 ...like me 😭

Use VPN and go to Japanese markets, you can usually find some for a little cheaper.

In my head. I get some people cant afford real Nendoroids but it seems unfair that they are buying a fake meaning they aren't supporting the original sculptor and giving more money to the person faking it. It's just unfair to the original sculptor 😓

I’ve been looking for a Japanese sakura miku nendo for a while now and never wanted to get it on eBay but I finally did it. The seller was giving it for $118 and I was skeptical at first so I messaged him and asked for more pics and he sent me more and said it is authentic but I also looked up to see if the box was also a bootleg or not and looked very VERY closely at the figure itself, the extra pigtails and compared the paint job on the legit box one and the one he posted and saw that it was 100% legit so I got it. Took me 2 hours and asked 4 of my homies to help inspect it and look at his other reviews and other products this guy does. The only sketchy thing I see that it’s listed as “used” but hopefully it’s just that he bought it and didn’t do much. It comes in October and I can’t wait! 😊

15:19 My Figure Collection also has pictures of bootleg figures for comparison and if they have posts about bootlegs, the official entry for the figure will have a warning at the bottom saying “a counterfeit version of this figure exists” which you can click to see them. Some bootlegs... are the stuff of nightmares.

Honestly i wouldnt care is its a bootleg or not,i just care if its close to the real one

piplup229 No wanting a bootleg nendoroid doesn't make you a bad person. Some people can't afford the real nendoroids and that is ok. As long as it makes you happy, and you know your getting what you pay for. Witch is a lesser quality figure at a lower price. But when people cheat you out of your money and tell you your getting the Real deal and they give you a fake at a Real deal price is what is wrong,😡 and those people you should not support.

The bootleg can be easily broken. I got a bootleg figure by mistake. It doesn't have a sword and it constantly falls. Worst purchase ever.

piplup229 no bootlegs can be good. They are cheap and sometimes quality. I have a bootleg rem she is good quality. So I recommend you get a bootleg if you can’t afford it.

I have a bootleg Levi Figma ;-; His leg doesn't stick and keeps falling off, his hair falls off, his torso, arms, basically everything that's articulated And he was $10 so what can I do XD That Levi bootleg is just plain terrible, not even worth $10 ;-; It's coloring is also shiny and not matte like it's supposed to be

This was really helpful and I checked if the nenoroid I was going to buy if it was a bootleg or not and I’m so happy that the store I went to sell a lot of authentic nenoroids

In addition, check for the Kadokawa sticker on the front. Both the Holo and Nagato nendoroids that I bought have them on the front. Not sure about older ones though.

Old Nendoroid supports don't have metalic screws, some official Nendoroids are not produced by "Good Smile", Some old real Nendoroid can be sticky and smell... The best way to tell an authentic from a false is to go on the official website, there's pictures of details to authenticate them.

I have one bootleg but it actually is pretty good lol

I really love nendoroids. I have 7 of them, but I really wanna get a Sebastian or Ciel one from Black Butler. I kinda prefer the bootleg because they’re only around 20$ and also I don’t think they make Black Butler nendoroids anymore.

i love all of my official nendoroids coz they look neat and are sturdier. But man, people need to stop being toxic and shaming others for making a different decision.

Really informative video!! ^^ I just have to say one thing though. It's about the Hatsune Miku figure. The original one does also come with a circuar base. I know this because I have an authentic #33 Hatsune Miku nendoroid with the circular base. I think the first releases came with the circular base but after high demand GSC realeased her again, just with a different stand. Anyways, awesome video!! 💕💕 keep up the good work! 😝

im waiting for my very first nendoroid to ship to my house right now. i bought a deku one, and he's a super popular character, so there are a lot of bootlegs around. i got it on ebay for $55 from a seller with 100% positive reviews who has sold nendoroids in the past. the photos weren't found anywhere else and were of a lot of box angles, so i'm hoping it's the real deal! i'll definitely be comparing it to this video's guidelines when it arrives!

i watched this bc i got an isabelle one for christmas which was kinda expensive but i love it lol my sister got Dazai and Chuya nendoroids for her birthday and i was looking at them earlier and the boxes were off, the bases was completely clear, and it was way more difficult to put them together than my isabelle one. also im pretty sure even if my isabelle one is offical, the head itself has a peg that goes into the body rather it be the body having a peg that goes into the head-

Hey, I need your advice. I recently got a kagamine Len nendoroid cheerful ver for my birthday. The box said nendoroid and all that but the figure itself had problems. The paint job is not very detailed and crosses over where it’s supposed to be in certain areas. Also, one of the faces tiny little screw part broke when I gently took it out. Is it a bootleg or a legitimate figure? Any help is appreciated:>

my used monokuma figure is real and all but it doesnt have one of those info things does that mean the old owner got rid of it or did he sell me a fake one?

My hanzo nendo I got from EB Games (Gamestop) doesn't have screws in the stand thing. I think that changed for some of the newer ones? I doubt the 70$ nendo from a store that officially licenses them will sell me a fake

Please answer this. If it shows a real picture but other one that everyone has on ebay can it also be a real?

3:09 mine has short flaps but it has got the nendorid series sign and sculpted by name on the box..

Either one, but them from a store or official good smile website brand new, or two (if you are going the pre-owned route) buy pre owned figures from ami ami If you are looking at eBay preowned, make sure the pictures are not stock photos and are real pictures taken from a camera

I got this miku yukata nendo (no. 333) and her base trademark only states the nendo’s designer, the companies and the made in china and I can’t tell if it’s legit because it didn’t display the year.

OOO that one is a tuff one. well miku is one of the more popular bootlegs, the only thing i can tell you is to do your research and find a video with someone reviewing her and see if yours matches up with theirs, i don't have this miku so its hard for me to say, but good luck :)

I’m glad umaru is is more recognized I watched ever since I decided getting into anima because I wanted to spread my wings

I got a yuri on ice nendroid and ots prop fake but its still not here so we will wait and see, to me if it was fake i prop wouldn't care because i got a whole different body for it and other clothes, so i prop wouldn't care about anything else other than the head but hope it is actually good quality!

Honestly I don't see the problem with getting a bootleg, they look exactly the same and they are cheap as hell

@@1ROCKET- Reason being because Funkos already pretty cheap on release, so it's not really anything to copy. Bootlegs get more dangerous when the thing that's getting bootlegged is more valuable.

I am a bit neew to nendoroid (big nood at it to be precise), but I am trying to by my first original nendoroid figure (do have one bootleg and it is cool but now I whant to suport the compani ). My question is Crunchyroll ok site to by nendoroids from, because I have seen a figure that I like and the price is ok (46$+shipping), I know that they are ok for anime streaming but are the ok also for figures. I am really sorry for the long question, btw nice video now I know a little bit more about spoting bootleg IRL, but here where I live we don`t have anime stuff at all XP

tnx so much, I was a bit worid because I was looking on ebay and saw that the price was around 90$ odf a nendoroid that I whanted to by and I was ok whit that, but then saw that on crunchyroll is whit shipping around 60$ so I was a bit consfued XP .

You should’ve mentioned some other key elements. Like how sometimes a knockoff will also not list the site link on the sides of the box. Sometimes even the way it’s taped is a dead giveaway. Although identifying fakes is very variable and can vary based on generation. Use mfc people!

i find i can get good deals on per-owned wed sites, like Ami Ami has a preowned area and they only sell the real deal so i don't have to worry :)
