Sleep w/ bonnet on at night. You can also use jam, wax or twisting gel when twisting your hair.

I know this vid is old but the people reading this are most likely researching on some new hair styles vs the same boring cut you always get. Do not directly put leave in conditioner in your scalp as this will lead to product build-up within your scalp and your roots looking greasy.
