The mod wheel is like a dial on most midi controllers. I use it to make the modulation at @2:51 happen. If you don't have a midi controller with a mod wheel, you can click and drag the mod wheel in Vital's user interface. Or if you have a DAW, you can draw in automation for CC1 like I do at @10:05 If you don't move the mod wheel or set a CC1 value, the preset won't make any sound because the filter cutoff is all the way at the bottom.

I'm amazed at how accurately you repeated that sound.

I think the arpeggio sound and the lead sound are 2 separate instrument tracks, but you made that into one preset. Amazing

Can you recreate the synth from Flume - TRUST? I mean the vibrato synth that is introduced in 2:18.

Which slap bass sound? The one from the live stream? It's a recreation of the E Bass from the DX7. There's a free DX7 VST called Dexed that I show when I'm talking about the DX7 E piano at the end of the live stream.

@@drite7692 Yeah, if you don't have a keyboard with a mod wheel or a midi controller that you can map, you can just draw in modulation for CC1 in a DAW. I show that towards the end of the video.

The mod wheel at the start isn’t working for me- this sounds so awesome and I wanna remake it but whenever I use the mod wheel on anything the desired effect just doesn’t happen

You’re not the only one to have this problem. Are you using the mod wheel on a midi controller? You may need to map the mod wheel to cc1. Any midi controller I’ve used is mapped that way by default. If your controller doesn’t have a working mod wheel, you can map a different control to the mod wheel. Right click the mod wheel in Vital and choose something like “learn midi assignment”. Then move the control you want mapped and it will map automatically. If none of that works, you could always map all of the mod wheel’s modulations to an envelope or LFO in envelope mode instead. You’ll just be limited to that shape.

It's usually mapped by default, but make sure your mod wheel is mapped to CC1.

Yeah, none of these features are unique to Vital. You might have to adjust the values, but the concept should translate.

I have a similar sound in my Ear Candy Pack here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKeKlo-HpL3RfsY.html It's a pretty similar process to the video you linked. A very narrow band pass and high resonance on the upper harmonics of a low saw wave with the cutoff of the filters and amplitude of the oscillator being rapidly modulated.
