Dolly Zoom is a classic camera lens trick first used by Alfred Hitchcock in "Vertigo" where you pan back and while panning back your slowing zooming in at the same speed to create the effect of distortion around the subject. #lesson

Hey Peter, as always great inspiration. If you want to preserve your 4K resolution you should practice your dolly zooms in camera using a zoom lens (assuming your drone can zoom?) Dolly out/zoom In OR for a slightly different effect Dolly in/zoom out, you'd use them differently to evoke different psychological responses, depending on the mood of your film. One will create the feeling like the walls are closing in as the background is rushed forward overtaking the foreground, much like in the Shining's hallway scene. The other, feels as if the foreground extends making the background fall away, giving that Vertigo feeling. Would be interesting to see how else you can use these tricks. Happy Vlogging!

I know I literally just commented on another video but can I just say it’s awesome you keep these tips so short. It’s easy to understand and easy to follow. Idk maybe I’m not as quick learning as some but it definitely keeps my attention more than 10 tricks and tips.

It's so refreshing to have artists like you also teach, share and inspire others with your abilities Peter. I was brought here by my good friend and media assistant Matt Webster and Casey Neistat and I must say I can see why. Keep up the great work. Liked and Subscribed my man. I agree. In my last vlog I did like a little effect. Many people missed it. But the ones who didn’t appreciated it a lot so it was worth it. I squeezed milk out of my breast 🤣🤣 (im Male) 😝
