How to Spend 48 Hours in Banff National Park!

After crossing the border, we made our way to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. Unfortunately, a ton of smoke blew in from local wildfires. Being from California, we're pretty used to wildfires, but it's always disheartening when they happen. No matter, we still managed to get out and explore. Come along for the adventure!

I so agree with you about Canadian Parks and US National Parks being dog friendly. We went crom eastern Missouri to Alaska in 2023 and had a wonerful trip. We took our 7yr old Lab, Molly. Border crossings were a breeze, like your's. We had smoke in multiple places going through Canada and Western US, but it was bearable. Your trip is only going to get more beautiful and breathtaking.

We used GypSy when we went through the Canadian Rockies. We will be using GuideAlong this year when we go to Acadia and other points in New England. We had a similar experience near Banff where the narrator said 'around the next curve, we often find elk herds'. When we rounded the curve, we found an elk herd and a group of naturalists who were trying to tag a pregnant elk and tag her. It was amazing. We went on a Hawaii tour in February and used Shaka Guides, which is a similar program. Incredible resources. Glad to see you are back on the road.

Put a rubber mat in the bed of the truck than put your camper on top. Horse stall mat works great...

A yearly park pass is cheaper and easier . Enjoy just before the major swich back there is a great ridge hike . They are all good but it's not much of a climb to see great views. I forget what it's called . Abraham lake is amazing and free camping it's just David tomposon area between Jasper and Lake louise . Turn east at the Saskatchewan crossing .... Hinton has really good crown land camping just outside of Jasper . Miette hotsprings is just before the gates in the way out and hot as can be with great hikes and campgrounds and cabins . The skyline hike is so beautiful... is you do folding mountain the folding mountain brewery gives you free beer . It's mediocre compared to amazing hikes in the park .... I can go on im a Canadian nomad mostly BC and Alberta ...

Glad to have you visiting our province. You were throwing me off a bit when you mentioned the smoke and Victoria day. Yes the smoke was bad last year. Even our videos are off by 7 months. LOL. Anyway we are planning on heading through that area this Summer and will be taking lots of video. It's been a while since we have been in Banff. Long time subscriber and enjoying your videos.

Nice video, love the new truck camper. You should google stable camper, they sell truck camper stabilizers that would make your camper much more stable when off the truck.

Great video! I saw that smoke from the fires. Glad it cleared up. How was the hot springs? I was glad you were able to help that couple with the camper that was stuck. I would have done the same and helped if I could. How the hiking and did Carmen feel better after the hike? Band seems to be a nice cute town. Glad you the camper leveled after taking it off truck. What a beautiful country! Can’t wait to see more. Have a great week and see you soon! Safe travels.

The hot springs were great! It was kind of a warm day, so I image them to be really awesome with chillier weather. But we were happy to soak our bones anyway. Carmen loved the hikes. She's doing so much better after getting on the right medications for her arthritis, and the vet told us to keep her moving, so the hikes were great for her!

@@GetawayCouple That’s good the hot springs give you comfort for the bones and good for Carmen with the joints to keep them moving. I’m glad it’s helping her. Glad the medicine is helping too. I wish there was a cure all for arthritis for both humans and pets digs cats and all.

I love Banff, my backyard old stomping grounds, but u can't get cellular data in that campground so u gotta ride a bike or drive towards banff town to get on the net 🙄. Yeah the smoke sucked all the way to Vancouver too, blocking such beautiful views 🫤. My camper shifts constantly, n then hits my campers legs with the tie downs, it is such a constant problem i wonder if shoving in rubber side bumpers of some sort is possible without causing damage as i have a northern lite. I need to come up with some idea it drives me nuts. Be curious to hear your solution. 🍻

We came up with a temporary solution with wood and styrofoam (we show it in a few videos) but we definitely want to build something better now that we're home. We were thankful the smoke blew out so we could at least enjoy a day of beautiful Banff!
