Basically, since you're staying at Umeda, that's already a very good spot to access all of the major attractions. Here are some examples of the places, distance and walking needed from station. I hope this helps! 1. Dotonbori (primary food street and shopping in Osaka) - 24 min away by train - Umeda to Namba station ( need to walk further 500 m to dotonbori) 2. Osaka Castle - 30 min away by train - Umeda to Temmabashi Station (need to walk further 1.5km to reach castle) 3. Umeda Sky Building - 16 min away by train - Taiyujicho station to osaka eki mae station (need to walk further 850m to building) 4. Oh yes, if you only have a few days to spend in Osaka, definitely skip Universal Studios. While it is a great theme park with rides only found in Japan, you really need to dedicate a full day to it. Aside from the park being a famous attraction, end of July is also the start of summer vacation for schools in the country. Definitely the worst time to go to Universal or any other park for that matter.

    Hello! Sure I'm happy to help you answer your question! After a quick look on google maps, , there is a train station located just 200 meters from your hotel (3 minute walk) which is great! Your hotel is near some of the locations such as dotonbori and downtown Osaka, which is only 10 minutes by train away. Other locations are a bit further, requiring a 30 minute train ride but 10 to 30 minutes is pretty normal travel time. Some locations require you to walk between 500 meters to 1.5km from the station to reach the attractions though so I'd recommend packing light and wearing comfortable shoes. I also saw your question on the Kyoto video, I will reply you there, if that's alright with you :)

    Hey! I am looking for an itinerary for my holidays in Osaka and Kyoto for 8 days. I have questions. First, Did you finish visiting all the places each day based on your itinerary? Second, The places for each day are in the same place or you will hop on the train to reach each place..Thank you!

  • @excitedwandererjapan

    @excitedwandererjapan

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Jean! Thanks for the questions! I prefer taking my time when I travel so sometimes i don't cover all locations within the same day but you could definitely cover them without having to rush from a location to the other "travel tour" style. Next, for Tokyo and Kyoto, you can usually divide the city into sections, each direction typically has a collection of spots that you can easily walk to or are a station or two away. Osaka isn't like that, so while I try to make it so my itinerary groups the locations that are closest to each other, there will be times when you need to travel a bit on the train. I've also just recently made a 4 day itinerary on Kyoto so you can combine that with this Osaka 3D itinerary to have a total of 7 days (with an extra day for you to spend as you please!) Here's the link to that video, I hope it helps you! kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqWVudKje7GefLA.html Please do let me know if you have any more questions, i'm always happy to answer them :)

    @@jeanGmizzyjean It's always my pleasure :) When researching train lines, I have a tip specially for you. Go to the Google Maps website, then enter your starting point and your destination, it will show you exactly what lines you have to take! Very helpful when planning travels in Japan. Since we're here, Google Maps tells me that you need to take the Airport Express to Namba, on the Nankai-Kuko Line. The entire journey takes about 45 minutes and costs about 900 yen per person. Yes, all of this came from Google Maps, pretty cool huh?

    Hi Maria, Japan is a popular country and tourists usually aim to go during April every year. My advice (based on my experience going to Japan 5 times) is to book as early as you can. Some airlines allow you to book between 6 to 8 months prior so I'd start looking sometime around Aug to Oct of 2023 for the best rates. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    @@mariazamacona9117 since you’re going to so many cities it makes sense to get the JR Pass. However, this pass must be bought BEFORE you leave to japan as it is not sold within japan itself. You buy the pass from the official site and they send you a voucher. You redeem the voucher for the actual pass in the JR office at any major train station in Japan

    Hi ains, i can't recommend a specific hotel because you didn't mention a budget. Ultimately I'd go for hotels closer to the Namba or Umeda areas. Food, shopping and transport hub.

    I think Osaka Excel Hotel Tokyu in Namba district is great. It's possible to walk to Dotonbori from here and the nearby shopping arcade is really nice, especially if you like textiles and kimono. I stayed here last August. The whole building is constructed in the shape of a giant gateway to the temple which is right behind. Namba is kind of a higher crime area but I didn't have any problems.

    Nara Park is missing on this list. It's reachable w/ public transportation. A must do. Osaka is more relaxed than Tokyo. People are more approachable and more drawn towards getting to know foreigners. It is more apparent that contrary to the sleek aspects of Tokyo, Osaka looks more lived and worn out. It has a retro feel to it. It is pretty much working class, with neighbourhood like Nishinari that are looked down by people of Osaka. Nishinari district will give a clear vision that not all is rosy in Japan, and yet it makes up for authenticity of the people living there. I liked that district a lot, and did not feel threatened at all. Osaka might feel a bit of a let down after visiting the capital city. The museum of Osaka history is quite a nice and surprising place to visit. It has a stunning view over the city.
