I think the reason you get more views on your painting is because you pant the way most of us are going to be painting. Sometimes when you watch a video of someone painting you just know you're never going to be able to get your miniatures to look like that. You keep it real and what most people can expect for their pant jobs also. Keep up the good work man and we will keep watching it.

When Slap Chopping flesh on a miniature, I tend to put a thinned coat of regular flesh colour down as a bit of a basecoat first and then when that is dry I chuck the speed paint flesh colour over the top - it looks okay, won't win you any awards but it'll pass muster I think. Great videos chum!

Hey man, I've been a big fan of your channel for a while now. I started painting again last March and your videos first inspired me to try slap chop and as a result I fell in love with speed paints and that style of painting. I find your POV very identifiable and that's why I'll click on your new videos before any of the other painters I follow. It's great to hear you're still enjoying making videos, and that you've been able to make a living out of it - I hope you keep going for a long time! If I may offer a suggestion, I've found that the results of my painting have come along leaps and bounds since I've started adding a grey zenithal between the black undercoat and the white drybrush. I've been using Army Painter Uniform Grey. Your mileage may vary but I think it'll be helpful with the issue you've been having with faces. If you find the overall result a bit too bright and not sufficiently grimdark for you, you can always slap on a thinned down dark wash. Works for me, anyway! Thanks man, keep up the awesome videos!

Great vids! helping lots of people revitalise their painting ideas and get jumping into the games! Myself included! I think you should explore the hue scale - warm and cold colours, with skin I'm told a warmer base coat possibly reddish brown would help massively with natural shadows rather then fading to black (a cold colour),, would love to see you do a video exploring warm and cold base coats with the speed paint series,, beware the wandering monster! 🏃💀

Btw wanna say thank you for these video, while i known about slapchop and speedpaint for some time, i never really could get myself to paint much even if i enjoyed the painting process (being tired a lot also affected it, but i atleast know what caused that now, so i got energy for my hobbies again!) But fact you show full painting process at more tabletop standard, show of simpel and cheap things like texture palette and pop-it toy. But main thing that helped was your "NOW this is HOW we should PAINT miniatures!!!" where you talked about how slapchop made you go from hating to enjoy it, It help me try painting again and figure out my problem was painting "normal way" felt like i got no where and washes didn´t feel good either, while speed paints always feels like progress This week alone managed 5 orcs and 5 succubus to tabletop ready standard, and slapchoop 19 more that just needs some speed paints now. (From sword and socery board game, because i wanna replay it and they work well for Pathfidner 2e too)

Try to drybrush an off white color, instead of pure white. I found that ivory color works a lot better with speed paints. It does not overbright dark colors and plays just great with others. I use Vallejo Bone White, this same colos may be called Ivory or Whife Buff or Titanium Buff or Aged Titanium in other paint lines =)

May also be interesting to prime in white, then hit it with a wash to create shadows where you want them and then painting.

Much easier to do it as in video, black, then drybrush grey and white. And it looks much more natural.

Looks cracking id be well happy. The clear bases are nifty. Maybe for heroquest you could do a laid back battle report of sorts going through these adventures? Take pictures of the board wherever anything fun goes down. Regardless loving the content.

You should just buy a sanding disk for your dremel to do the bottom sanding.

Nice video. I think a splash of a wash like reikland fleshshade on the face would help. Give the speed paint time to dry tho as washes can reactivate them

Hi, do you know that you could Slap Chop with white? Just use a really pale grey ( I use Corax White ) as Base Coat and then dry brush the pure white. That should fix the skin tone Problem.

My big question is if you varnish your models before you play with them? By the way your video's made me buy Heroquest today 😂. It will arrive next monday. Can't wait to start painting them. Keep up the good work m8.

I was going to suggest this too. Since the speedpaint will not colour over black. I do wonder if the recesses will be dark enough though. I was going to try grey prime, black wash, then white dry brush on my next team.

Reasons why I watch your channel over others: 1. You are NOT a professional painter and your paint jobs are achievable 2. You extensively use Speedpaint and other medium to paint quickly rather than spending hours per mini. I don't have time for that. 3. You paint to the printed color scheme of board game minis and give me ideas on what to use when I paint those models. 4. Your videos are a great length between 8-12 minutes long. 5. You're normal and don't edit the crap out of your videos.
