HOW TO - Speargun Bands (Calculation and Setup)
This video compiled years of research and experimentation to show you a fast and reliable step-by-step way to calculate and setup a double banded speargun (in this case a Pathos Sniper 95) that can be applied to most conventional guns.
Bands Used: Sigalsub 14.5mm extreme (1mm ID)
Shaft used: 6.75mm Sigalsub HRC Double Barb
Dyneema: Pathos 1.75mm
Always do your due diligence and experiment to find what works best for you!
Thanks for watching!!

Thanks you so much for your comment my friend, I hope this helped you! =)
Good idea to explain all in writing :)
hey bro, great video, i have wood gun 110, and pathos shaft 7mm 135cm on it should i use sigal bands (small id reactive evo) 2 x 16mm or 2 x 14 mm for it? i want to use 2 x 16 mm, do you think it is gonna be too powerfull?
Hello, Bro. Nice video. But there's some miscalculations in my opinion. The real working length your gun could offer (from the center of the band in muzzle to the back end of the sharkfin) is 105 cm. Then it looks like you have something about 7 cm wishbones with fastening loops. Divide it by two - 3,5 cm, and 1 cm of rubber on the end of the band to secure the loop. So, you have 4,5 cm of "dead length" from your 105 cm "working length", which does not give any rubber strecth and power. So, 105 - 4,5 = 100,5 cm of actual stretch of 65/5=32,5 cm band. So, the actual real stretch ratio is 100,5/32,5=3,09 or 309% 💁♂️
Are there any differences in the formula when we are calculating it for inverted roller? Awesome video
Is the wishbone not calculated in the length of the bands? The longer or shorter the wishbone will change the stretch correct?

I ask myself the same and no one seems to lose a word about it 🙄🙄

It has 307% elongation, not 330%.
Sir, how long your shaft? Is it ok if i use a double flopper for this set up?
do you use a slip knot to tie the ends off
Hello from iraq with you amazing
Hi MUST Spear ✋; can you explain what is the :-32where it come from ? I new 105 and x2 please share thank you for explain every thing except 32 I don't get it 👍👍🙏.

Can you please explain why there are 3 shark fins on the spear?
please, lenght for double 16 bands of rob allen tuna 130 with 7.5 shaft
Is the tire you use 16mm?
How about different size rubber?, like a 12mm or 14mm or 18mm etc, any formula?

Usually there are tables for famous brands, that state what is best for each diameter and this is where I find the percentages used in the video. However, as a rule of thumb, 300% is optimal. Too much and your bands wear out quickly, too little and you sacrifice their full potential for longevity...Hope this helps!!! Have a good one!
Hi, I am planning to make a 120 cm wooden spear gun. The shaft is a 7mm/160cm. Which bands would be better to use 16mm or 14mm?

16mm.

A 7mm shaft with 160 cm length is best propelled with 14 mm small inner diameter bands, stretched at 360%. For 7.5 mm shaft use 14.5 mm small inner diameter stretched at 380%. Both options get you lots of power but also a 'smooth' acceleration that equals to nice range and good accuracy. The 7.5 shaft oscillates less than a thinner one, has also more punch when hitting fish (penetration). But a 7mm is fine, tho.
Galing 'mo
how did you get your 105cm?
Is it me, or did you forget to count the wishbone length?

Yes, it's should be 105 - 4,5 (wishbone one side), so he has a bit longer for 3,3
