Seniors VV day is my weekly fave thrift adventure. I hit up the new racks, and find the new color tag and focus on that. As the season is changing my route in store is…dresses, skirts, blazers, bathing suits, men’s sweaters. I wander through the footwear and purses. Pants, scouting for linen. After that I comp check, look at the returns rack, always find a gem or two there. And check out. I go home and try to show my finds to a lukewarm husband and son lol. They try to snag the nice men’s stuff too. Everyone in my family knows Tuesdays are sacred now.

I love this so much. It made me realize that I do pick “thrifting outfits”. When I go to the bins I dress in very light clothing-it’s a work out haha. The only other thing I do in the small shops is literally chat up associates it’s usually the same ladies in there. Sometimes they share their “shop secrets” such as “wink wink put designer sale is next week, or if they just put something lovely on the floor” their little friendships have helped a lot!

Awesome video! I don't go to Value Village often, so hearing about how they put out the new stuff was a fantastic piece of info for me! I am going to try that the next time I go there. I definitely use the lululemon belt bag when I thrift. I wear it crossbody, and I keep my phone in the exterior back pocket so I can whip it out over and over to check comps. 😁

Great video. Our goodwill has discounts on Monday for military, Tuesday for seniors and Thursday is dollar day. I also get coupons from my email, my husband, mom, son, sister and 2 good good girlfriends.

My thrifting tips. 1-Always know where the nearest public bathroom is and its hours. My favorite thrift stores dont have public restrooms and i had to learn uncomfortably. 2-Know the hours of the checkout counter so you kee 8:38 8:41 8:45 p the clerks happy. Ask what time the clerks hope to leave the store and work around them to make friends. 3-Take your own measuring tape. I find a lots of women’s clothes put on mens racks.

Such a good video ! Haha I do some of these things and didn’t even realize that it was a strategy 😂 I lost keys in Plato’s, it was just a tiny key fob and to make things worse it was my dads bc I borrowed his car !!!! My heart dropped , I was so lucky I started at the fist isle and found it laying under the the first row of clothes 😅 Now I’m Extra carful 😂 and I bought apple AirTags 😂🙈😂 Anyways thx for the video !!! Can’t wait to see what ur buying for spring summer !

I definitely plan my week based on coupons/specials. At the Salvation Army my path will start with whatever is on special that month, then the new racks. In our store they have been leaving new racks at the back and employees come and grab those to put away so having a chance to go through them before they get to their designated rack is nice. If no specific sale I hit the shoes first. I always get that rush heading over like "today is the day I will find a new pair of Doc Martens in my size for under $50" It has not happened yet in my size. I have found my daughters size but still holding out for mine, LOL. My husband heads right for the locked cabinets/display sections first. I have realized that although priced up sometimes you can still find great gems to flip in those cases. Thanks for sharing the info. I totally agree with share the knowledge 😊

I like to have routes for when I thrift . I go 2 or 3 times a week depending on how much I need to ship. I don’t wear my jacket inside because i will overheat. Also I like to have a snack or two in the car. I want to add estate sales in this summer and found a local estate sale company and joined their email list.

Hi Tabs, I was wondering if the thrift store employees in your area treat you differently since they probably know you are a reseller. My husband is a reseller and last week an employee at one of the VV asked him to next time bring his donation to the counter and not drop it off in the bin. I wonder if they are going to say no to giving him a coupon!!! Grrrr...

Hmmm I have been treated differently. They may have had ppl saying they drop off donations and don’t for a coupon. If they give you troubles in store just drop your donations off in the drive through).
