It sounds a bit weird. tan(pi/2) is undefined but it may not be valid to say if tan(x) is undefined, then x = pi/2 .

Pi/2 is the principal value. There are infinitely many angles for which that is possible but based on the proof . You can quote as how I did

@@HumbleMak I understand principal value and general solution of angles. But my thought is that it is weird to solve something undefined...

@@tse4620 yeah I understand where you're coming from. But you shouldn't say infinity doesn't exist okay. Infinity actually exists. You should rather say it is undefined. Not that it doesn't exist okay

@@HumbleMak ya so I didn't say it doesn't exist but only undefined. Just when it comes to undefined, we may not be able to really solve the equation in this way.

@@HumbleMak just like if we have an equation log(x) = -1/0, then it's weird to say becoz right hand side approaches negative infinity, therefore x = 0. We can at most say lim(x-->0)log(x) = negative infinity.
