In all my 32 years I have never seen simultaneous equations expalined so seamless, thank you.

You are an absolute legend. All the other videos on simultaneous equations talks about adding, taking away, dividing and multiplying but no body cares to explain why they are doing it or where they are getting the numbers from. I can not honestly stress how great full I’m for you this video.

To remove -4 you must add 4 to both sides of the equation. That is why you get a 9 on the RHS, and the -4 is removed from the LHS

That seems more complicated. You already have a negative coefficient. You don't need another one.

Because the signs behind the numbers are all positive so we have to multiply one of the equation by negative sign.

So then, when you're adding both equations, the positive 15x (blue) and negative 15x (red) can cancel each other out. That makes it easier to solve for y

to remove the negative four he added 4 to make it 0, thus what you do on one side u do to the other resulting in 5+4=9.

You can use eqn 2 to find y. but you then must use eqn 1 to check

6:10 All the coefficients (the numbers in front of the letters) are positive. In this case we are eliminating X, so we need to multiply the first equation by -5 and the second equation by 3. So when we add the equations together we multiply by -5. You could multiply by 5 and subtract the equations but that can cause more confusion.

I'm assuming you understood how he got to: 3x + -4 = 5 Adding a negative number is the same thing as just subtracting so you could simplify it as: 3x - 4 = 5 To solve for X you first want get rid of the -4. So you need to add 4 to both sides of the equation: 3x - 4 = 5 +4 +4 The 4s on the left side cancel out so you're left with: 3x = 9 To solve for x, just divide by 3 on both sides and you get: X=3 Hope that helps! If you have a decimal number, it is best to remove it by multiplying it out. eg 1.5x + 3y = 1 In this case I would multiply everything by 2. So it would become 3x + 6y = 2

I keep on getting decimals help me!!!!! Equations: 3x-7y=5 3x+7y=-9 just help me!!!!!

If we solve and find x, then we use one of the equations to find y and the other equation to check. The reason you use the other equation is that if you have made a mistake, you won't notice that it is wrong if you use the same equation that you used to find y to check. That is why you use one question to find the variable and the other to check.
