How to Solder SMD Components!

Ғылым және технология

In this video, I will show you how to solder SMD components using soldering iron as well as using hot air.
In last few decades a new technology so-called SMD which stands for Surface Mount Devices is taking over THT so today in this Instructables I will show you what are SMD components and how to solder them,
So let's get started!

Great video! Someone showed me an easier method for the technique at 3:23. No solder wick needed. Solder a few pins down to anchor the chip on each side. Put a firm rubber mat on the desktop. Next solder one side of the chip with plenty of excess solder. All the pins will be connected together. While the solder is still liquid, pick up the board and firmly tap the side of the board on the rubber mat. The excess solder goes flying off and the pins are all soldered separately on that side. Repeat for each side of the chip. Done.

That sounds rather unreliable and a good way to get specks of solder where you don't want it. A better way is to get so liquid/paste flux, cover the pins with it, and drag the iron across the pins. The flux makes sure the solder only sticks to the pins/pads and avoids bridges if there isn't too much solder. Wick off any bridges with the iron by dragging it down the pins and wipe off the iron on your sponge every time.
