    Thank you!!! Learned my lesson on the u7000. Bought a dead 2011 mb pro (already had the replacement logic board from Apple) mainly for the body and LCD. Figured what the hell and took a look. Yep! Faulty resistors for current sensing on charger side. Dim green charger light. Replaced and still no go. Checked onewire and no acok signal from u7000. Replaced and wham!!!! Works like a charm. Fans spun, all done! Ha passed ASD. Now have working pro instead of for parts! Thanks to you, Louis!!!!

    We're performing this repair in Jerusalem, Israel right now. I like your videos Louis. We came to the conclusion that this chip was bad before finding this video, and were looking for an alternative chip before we realized we have it in stock. I'm using a $125 heat station that doesn't give me any of the grief that you mentioned.

    I swear you make this look so easy, how did you practice soldering? did you start practicing with customer boards, or with junk boards you just had lying around? At my store, we have tons of customer PC's but i dont want to test my "soldering" abilities on their boards, and by the way, thanks for the replies on my earlier comments, i greatly appreciate it

    Hi Louis, let me start saying I suck at using the hotair gun. I am trying to fix my macbook, looks like the Q7260 is bad. There's voltage on the source pins and nothing coming out of drain pins. My question is what is the temperature (Ceilsius) to get this chip off the board. I tried 400C for a few seconds but the solder doesnt melt, is there any trick I am missing? I appreciate your help. thank you.

    Just a heads up, you can’t accurately measure resistors when they are still in circuit. You gotta disconnect/isolate one side first. Obviously when he measured the second one and it read as open, it didn’t matter.

  • @Mueller3D

    @Mueller3D

    If you measure a resistance that is higher than the value of the resistor, you know the resistor is bad. If you measure a resistance that is lower, you don't know, since current could be flowing along other paths.

I've a Macbook Air 13" (MacbookAir5,2, Mid-2012) with MagSafe light not working, the battery is not charging anymore (tested with 2 different magsafes and 2 different batteries and still failing). A local shop said that it's caused to ISL6259AHRTZ, they ordered it and it seems that they got ISL6259HRTZ instead of ISL6259AHRTZ.

    Hello guys, I'm a very young electronics technician, I know the theory, but in practice I leave a little to be desired. My course was not so good for this reason, they teach the theory, but the practice does not. I had to learn the basics at my stage, but I still have not achieved my goals. Would it be possible if you, technicians with experience, could pass me tips and videos or channels even if they teach to use the hot air station for example? I would greatly appreciate all of you. hugs from Brazil

My MacBook A1502 EMC 2875 15 does not turn on and does not charge, the indicator does not work.The cause of the problem is a broken car charger (China) .When I watch your video, I want to replace the U7100 ( ISL6259). R7121 (5.90 Om) R7122(5.91Om) C7120(0.586V) C7121(In a short circuit, when the computer is turned off) . С7150 (In a short circuit permanently, but on it is 1.281v). С7008 (3.399V) C7000 (Has a short circuit when the computer is turned on Magsafe) Can you tell me if 9AHRTZ is a replacement?

    Wrong way to clean the pads. It will lift if you do that! You should use solder wick. You also can use liquid flux instead of the integrated flux core in the solder.

    You can almost notice at 7:59 that the chip isn't quite lined up the same when he pushed down with the tweezers compared to how it was lined up by itself a couple seconds earlier. It's very subtle, though, and easy to miss. If he'd cleaned it up, perhaps he could have seen it wasn't lined up right. These things are just too darn small!

It may have been the best chance you have to have children especially how crazy ya'll ride on your electric bike. If ya'll get an Electramechnica Solo for driving in Austin you may have future children. Just don't know as these women will be less and less desirable as ya'll get older.
