Just want to thank you for all the time you spend sharing your knowledge. I have learned so much from your videos. I became a liscensed trapper here in indiana because there is such a demand for removing nuisance beaver. I use all of you methods, and they all work. Thanks again. P.S. trapperJ was referring to you today, you must have taught him a thing or two as well!
I set a ton of Hail Mary sets😆. Can't get em if ya don't try. Keep the great vids coming and be safe✌️
I love snaring beavers. Good video and you explained it very well.

Great job my friend! Perfect sets! 🙂👏👏👏
Awsome video 👍
Thanks for this one, talk about timing I was just about to search on this. I want to snare cause I have a big swamp that snares would be alot lighter to carry in
Couple AWESOME tips in this video, thanks!
Them B.A.D are not that bad an idea at all , if anything they really let the snare hang really nice ....
It's a freakin miracle! That hilarious.
Good work! Great video!
Super cool!
Good goin'. I've got some snares ordered, and am lookin' forward to tryin' 'em out in SW Idaho.

@@MatthewJessOutdoors Hey buddy!
Wynona took her big brown beaver and she stuck him up in the air, said "I sure do love this big brown beaver and I wish I did have a pair. Now the beaver once slept for seven days And it gave us all an awful fright, So I tickled his chin and I gave him a pinch and the bastard tried to bite me. Wynona loved her big brown beaver And she stroked him all the time. She pricked her finger one day and it occurred to her she might have a porcupine.

One guy said 14 gauge wire which can work but it is actually 16 gauge wire. Some guys call it stove pipe wire or rebar wire. If you double it up, it works great for anchoring as well.
I think this is the first beaver snaring video I've ever seen. Is this more a last resort thing for ones who are already trap smart? In my situation they would be much easier to run then 330s and footholds, but I hadn't seen any info on it before this.
@330Maniac

Or if you gotta go way back into someplace that is not very accessible you can carry a lot and they are light
14 Gauge Wire , Hail marry sets are the best, I tell my helper that if you don't take a shot you will miss 100% of the time so set where ever and lots, If ya got the traps lay em out.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Congrats on a nice beaver. Does the snare leave a mark on the inside of the hide like if you were to snare a raccoon?
@330Maniac

I'm honestly not sure. I don't think that they would as long as it were under the ice. They would expire pretty fast then

Yes it does snare will leave a mark on leather
Question: I heard you like the cam locks but what would be the specs/dimensions of your preferred beaver snare? Thanks for any info and keep up the awesome videos.

Thanks bub. NH checking in. Fo you have a brand on the long gloves you use from your last vid? 👊

Stupid MN elected officials. Now I have to buy break away devices to trap beaver that are going to drown??? I guess I'll need to take my AR14 out there as well in case a bear-wolf tries to trap me on the ice. Keep up the good work, caught my first few beavers because of you, coming from the range, MN.
Would a snare work as a drowning set for beaver?. Atatched to a wire, L shape lock and concrete block?

@@330Maniac Thanks. I have to replace my old rusty one long spring foothold. I've set drowning set with it and next day trap was sprung but beaver has escaped. Trap was removed about 1m .
How long are your T bar stakes? They look pretty long.
I have always been super interested in trapping but never known where to start. Would you recommend starting with snaring?

I know at gun shows they usually have old shit cheap. I believe in minisota they have like auctions with tables and tables of old traps cheap.
If you look up fur buyers on youbute snares hurt the fur prices a lot.
@330Maniac

I get full price for my pelts all the time. That's a myth. Fur buyers just use that excuse to pay you less for your hard work. Don't let them fool you.

@@kyraleigh9816 Under ice beaver there isn't any damage. They struggle for just a bit and that's it. No marks. Any other animal that doesn't drown immediately has marks because they sit for hours in the snares and struggle
