What's a drop head wire? I can't get my snake to go into the trap. It won't turn the corner no matter what I do or how long I try. It won't go.

I just changed my bathtub to a shower, I think the tile man may have gotten some sand or grout in my pipes! I’ve tried everything 😢

😐 I have a similar problem, but it's my neighbours in the apartment downstairs that have recently done work on their apartment which has resulted in grout/cement in my pipes. Nearly broke my washing machine yesterday! 😢 Found little pieces of tile/cement in the drain filter

I tried an auger, it wouldn't work, is it better to just shell out the money and rent a snake machine?

"Ugly gloves." You can get different similar competing brands from the big box stores or online such as Amazon. They're a must have with the bigger auger snakes. You can never be too safe.

what do you do when it just won't push down any farther? I can pull it out and try different heads but just can't get it past either the clog or a joint/trap

The thing is if its done it once it will do it again. Surly it is bad design poor plumbing and general a mess. Size of the drain could be wrong as well. You have work out the incoming water to the size of the shower outlet which could be to small to take away the water. Then there is does it have a fall from the shower tray to the outside drain. Then you have the joints where they proper sanded outside and inside the pipe. then you could also have a puff pipe added just after the trap so that the pull does not pull all the water out of the trap but keeps a seal to prevent smell. I don't know whether you have strict regulations for this probably not. Then somebody that has had no training for plumbing do the job. If i was buying a house in the states it would be one of the items i would include because it surely costs a fortune to replace the drain especially if its under concrete. This is just first impression.

It's good to have a variety of different snakes/augers for various jobs. Highly recommend you have a couple different size snakes and attachments. Perhaps you can just run the cable (snake) without an attachment. Good luck. Be persistent. 🤔
