Hey Benjamin, We used to do it in Stubai in November but two autumns in a row Austria has shown that you cant trust them to allow skiing or travel. Thus we kept our autumn camps here in Switzerland who´s been more reliable.

For beginners, any twin tip ski that has a waist between 87mm-93mm. If you’re a more experienced skier you can go with anything between 80mm-100mm, but I do think 87-93 is great for a park skier. Good entry level park skis: 1). K2 Sight 2). Line Honey Badger 3). Rossingol Sprayer 4). Head Oblivion 84 (or 94) 5). Armada ARV 94 (more on the expensive side) If your skis are too wide, you’re more likely to smack your skis together when hitting rails and boxes. If you’re skis are too thin, you’re going to have a harder time balancing on rails. I would recommend you go thinner VS wider though

I watched this video for the first time back in February/March of 2023 and it didn’t really help me, I had to keep trying it until I stopped falling. My advice: 1). Pick out a rail that’s barely off the ground and try sliding onto it at slower speeds (not too slow). [You are going to fall a lot, just don’t let it get to you]. 2). Once you get the balance down and you’re able to slide the whole thing without falling, then try hopping onto the same rail. 3). Once you master the smaller rails you can try more medium rails where you are actually jumping onto them. This is the only way I was able to learn. I couldn’t even hit a single rail 3 months ago and now I’m able to hit all the small/medium rails IF YOU CAN’T FIND A SMALL RAIL TO SLIDE ONTO, make one. All you need is access to a drill & a handsaw, go buy wood and some pvc. Find a slope that’s gradual and keep hiking and skiing the rail you’ve made.

I don't get the point of all the tricks where people just pretend to be skateboarders. A rail slide is how skateboarders descend stairs...but there are no stairs here. A "grab" is how a skateboarder prevents the board from falling off their feet...but skis and snowboards are attached to your feet

Watch some urban cuts of people skiing and snowboarding. Its not just emulating skateboarding. Without grabbing the tip of the ski you can't get those amazing crossed ski gap shots. The rails and boxes on the mountain are a safer way to practice, just like a skate park. You may be confused about skateboarding as well, I would gap stairs on a skateboard all the time as a child vs riding the rail down and I never needed to grab my board to land properly.
