If you right click and hold then the mouse gesture radial tool will show up with the tools you have set or with the default tools. Once you are comfortable with the location of the tools then you can move the mouse toward the tool while right clicking. As you get faster with this you can select the tool before the radial appears. You can set the tools of the each radial per environment such as sketch, part, assembly and drawing.

You are not alone, just like how we have preferences in our laptop tastes/ our writing pen, even thou all of them can potentially get the job done, if you use what is comfortable in terms of how the software is layered out, you will perform at maximum efficiency. For starters its good to do a short market research to check what platform is used in the domain you want to work in.
