I would think that pushing a girl around would be easy until she's hunting you in the woods.

I remain fascinated by your many talents. You have strong engineering skills too. Never boring. ☺

On my limbs where the string slaps, I used a strip of thin rubber mat and wrapped it with sports wrap tape. The new kind that sticks to itself when you press or squeeze it and comes in all kinds of colors. Works great!

Another really good silencing material to use on your bow is bicycle innertubes. You can use them on the shelf, on the riser, (use the inside of the tube to eliminate drag) between the limbs and riser and the limb tips. Will outlast the wood your bow is made of. I haven't found a good way to use it on the string yet, but I'm working on it

Cut strips of rubber inner tube start with 3" long by 1/2" wide insert between the strands of bowstring same way Lily did with the blue thread now carefully split the rubber into thin strands this style of silencer was known as spider legs good luck.

Thanks Lilly! Your methods of silencing a recurve has been VERY helpful. The use of some some simple string segments to quiet the string was excellent, zero cost information. KZread "censors" must love picking on you as I have noticed other you tubers with archery usage. Like you explained though in another video, perhaps many are unaware that their videos are restricted or demonetized. We do not have cable or broadcast tv in our house as the content is sickening and much worse than anything you could ever create. All your videos are like having a "Professor of Survival" in my computer.

I've seen suede leather glued to the end of the curves where you have fur/velcro also. I love the velcro idea!

great vid as always lilly! some things that come to mind while watching are: 1. if you use wool (or some other natural material) that is white (or some bright color that you want to conceal), before installing, you could dye it black with a dye for cloth. 2. if you shoot using a pin set-up (as opposed to using the shelf) you could put the shelf material against the vertical part of the bow just above the "pin". that way, when the arrow is shot and hits against the riser it will be buffered by the material. ... but i guess you show this on your next bow. -- thanks for the great ideas!

I got an old Browning recurve bow as a hand me down. Put new string on it, but the arrow nock is so tight on the string it makes a twang when released. Compared it with my wife's bow and the string there isn't as tightly clicked onto the arrow nock. I don't know why these complications are possible - would have expected it's one string width to fit any recurve. It's not the spine as I've gone through multiple arrow spine strengths and there's no difference in the twang on release.

If you keep the arrow speed slow enough, the bow will move slower and be quieter. Something like 10 to 11 grains per lb of drawweight will keep the arrow around 200 fps.

Thanks, I've tried different ways to silence my bows to. I really hate the fur coming loose. The best I have found are Bowjax silencers, they slip on the stir.

What pull weight do you use? My long bow has a 55 foot pound pull (lbf/ft) I have absolutely no idea how to convert this number into metric. Is the proper conversion kilogram force per meter (kgf/meter)?

@@Nightdiver20: I'm just accustomed to Standard measurements. The Metric system is like learning a new language. If I understand it correctly Newton meters is a measurement of the pressure needed to move an object for one meter. And foot pounds is a measurement of energy needed to move one pound for one foot. So what is that "object" to make the 1 Newton meter amount? Based on a specific weight of an object? If so how much? What is a description of that object that is used make a reference point?

What was the reason for this video getting demonetized?? How on earth could this be offensive in any way?!

ah ha. I noticed in other of your archery videos. IMHO, your arrows are too long. I noticed first on your compound bow video. I noticed how your shots did not regularly go straight into the target. Measure from your breastbone to the tip of your longest finger while putting your hands together in front of you then add 1" or 25mm. Sometimes, depending on your broadhead design you'll need to go 12.5 mm longer to keep the back of the broadhead from touching your finger at full draw. All your arrows, either hunting or target should be identical. Also, in your compound bow video you shot with a biscuit rest. I've never used one BUT... :) I was taught that you have to string an arrow with one feather/fletch perpendicular to the bow and away from the arrow rest part of the bow to prevent or to reduce fletching contact with the arrow shelf. I saw your arrows 180 degrees out of that position. I'm no expert. Far, far from it. I was trained by one, though in 1980; an olympic archery coach. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. They're helping me train my grandchildren to enjoy the outdoors more. May all your life's shots be in the bullseye.
