I'm Argentine. I'm an English teacher in my nation and currently learning Argentine Sign Language and, by curiousity, am I here. Let me tell you that numbers and time-telling in BSL are by far much easier than in LSA (Lengua de Señas Argentina - Argentine Sign Language) 😅 Keep it up!! Greetings from San Luis 🇦🇷

If you watch this video, follow it up with Dan's 'BSL Receptive Quiz: What's the Time?', a fantastic way to really get the hang of telling the time.

Very useful, thank you very much. But I’m curious how you make it clear what time during the day it is. E.g 12am and 12pm and can you use the 24hour clock time as well to give a sense of morning and evening. E.g if I wanted to say 1:30pm could I say 13:30 instead to indicate pm? Or is there different ways of signing am/pm/24hr clock time?

BSL doesn't use 24hrs clock. Instead sign for morning, afternoon, night. (level 1 student)

Question, I do better time with military. Would I just use standard 1-24 and point to wrist for watch for that?

If you don't have a dominant hand, can you use either? Or should you use one?

Switching can cause confusion for the person you're signing to, so it's best to use one hand. Thanks for watching 🖐️

As I understand it, it’s better if you pick one and are consistent - it can get a bit confusing to follow if you keep switching hands!

Well, it depends on the lip pattern but I use a different sign for 10 which Dan did not show for some reason as it is most common too!
