How to Show Changes and History of Edits in Excel (Formula changes too!)

Join 400,000+ professionals in our courses here 👉 link.xelplus.com/yt-d-all-cou...
The new Excel "SHOW CHANGES" feature lets you collaborate confidently with others! With this feature you can see the most recent data and formula changes to your Excel files for up to 60 days. It allows you to see and monitor details about who changed what, where, and when, along with the previous value of the cell for quick reversion - in case you need to.
Show-Changes is also available in the FREE version of Excel. As long as you keep your file saved on OneDrive you can monitor and track changes made by you and others you've shared the file with.
All data and formula changes are tracked even if you use Excel on Desktop, Excel on mobile or in Teams. If you open your desktop files on the web, you have the ability to view who changed your data and also to easily revert back to an older version of the file. With Version History you can restore the previous version or save a copy of the old file.
With the new Show Changes feature, you no longer need to wonder who changed your Excel spreadsheet or worry about others changing your formulas. In case you don't see the changes in the "show changes" pane, you can go to version history and you can track the changes there.
Often a lot of work goes into creating a well designed Excel spreadsheet. Therefore, when collaborating on such workbooks it’s important to understand what others are changing. With Show Changes, you get peace of mind knowing that you have a safety net and that any changes done by others are being tracked for the entire workbook down to a single cell.

problem with being a power excel user is sharing my created spreadsheets. i built a depreciation workbook that compares macrs vs gaap depreciation, fixed asset activity, for any time period. it works simply by change two input cells for starting and ending dates. that's all you have to do. sure enough, i shared it and what came back was not my spreadsheet. that automatic save feature is a bad idea.
