    I am going through your old videos and enjoying them so much. How ironic that so few women watched this episode. It is gold. So many don't care about quality, yet in footwear that is necessary for it to be slow fashion.

    A brand recommendation : I'm in my 50s and have never had shoes as well made and incredibly lovely inside (for the price point) as Jady Rose shoes. They are a United Nudes clone, but at about 1/3 the price. They are super well crafted, butter smooth leather lined, and are holding up beautifully. I just ordered my fourth pair. I have no affiliation, just am in love with the quality.

    Hi Alyssa, how nice to delve into your archive! I'd love a video about how to shop footwear responsibly. Sustainable brands, but alternatively brands that produce quality shoes that are made to last, e.g. your cobbler can replace the sole etc. Love your work, thanks!

    Another very helpful video Alyssa! Thank you! Of all the different components of style, footwear is my favorite. The first thing I did was to invest in comfortable and aesthetically pleasing footwear. I worked across the Charles Jordan boutique back in 1975. I still own two pairs from that time. A burgundy leather wing tip Mary Janes and an Art Deco inspired black woven lace up evening wedged shoes that I still wear. They went from San Francisco toTokyo, back to San Francisco to NewYork City back to Tokyo, then to San Francisco and to LA where I am today. The right footwear makes the outfit. The wrong one... well...

    Great video and relevant topic. I run the gambit from Jimmy Choo to Zara , and amazing enough Zara and Mango shoes some fit as well and hold up - go figure? Here again, my husbands Ferragamos and other high-end brands are made so much better than the same women’s offerings - ( oh and the price is almost always less than the women’s for a larger shoe) it’s just maddening.

    I have bought a few pairs from a company called M Gemi on line, and they are amazing. They are hand made in Italy, and they are expensive, but as soon as you put a pair on your feet, you can tell they are the best quality. And, they have really beautiful flat pointy toe loafers like yours. Highly recommend!

    Alyssa, I agree and when I shop for leather shoes, I like to make sure the leather is nice and soft. I also like for the shoes to have arch support built in. I agree comfort and construction makes big difference in it performance. Good show check out my amazing deals.

    Thanks for the video! Do you have any recommendations for women with flat feet? What shoe brands do you recommend for ultra comfort?

  • @AlyssaBeltempo

    @AlyssaBeltempo

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Ingrid! Hmm to be honest i think the most important thing for flat feet is good structure, not too soft, and arch support. Also - shoes with removable soles are great because you can put an orthotic or insole in. Asics are a great running shoe with arch support, fit flops (NOT flip flops) have some cute sneakers with good arch support, and I have to say I'm really impressed with the cushioning and arch support in my poppy barleys. I have also never tried Blundstones but know those are a favourite for most regarding comfort. Fly London are also known for their properties of comfort and support. I hope this helps? Thank you so much for watching! xx

    These are great tips, Thank you! I have a question though. What can I do if I have decent basics, but I'm feeling uninspired by my wardrobe? I don't shop a lot because I want to be as conscious in my shopping as I can, but I feel like I've over thought it. Is it ok to go shopping seeking inspiration? Or, is that a minimalist disaster in the making?

    The Hue Lifestyle this is SUCH a good q - and I’ve got a video coming up about it!!😉 but honestly i think this is where a shopping list comes in handy bc it can include aspirational pieces too - then research, spend time looking for a punchy piece - i think as long as we’re being mindful and focused about our consumption/ shopping then that’s key ... hope that makes sense? Thanks for watching girl 😘 and stay tuned for that video it’s coming!

    I'm really enjoying all of your videos and am going W-A-Y back. However, the ball of your foot is NOT under your heel. The ball of your foot is the front fleshy part that is directly behind your toes. It's the part you are walking on when you walk "tippy-toes."

    Are you seriously advocating that someone scratch a sale able display shoe? I can’t tell you how many times I have seen evidence of that while shopping and the shoe is ruined.

  • @AlyssaBeltempo

    @AlyssaBeltempo

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Dana, thanks for bringing up the subject. I see that my segue between the two tips wasn't clear, and definitely do NOT advocate scratching shoes that have not yet been purchased. Using scuffs or scratches already present on floor models as clues to quality is what I was going for.
