How to Shoot Travel Video B-Roll Without a Plan?
Фильм және анимация
A behind the scenes demonstration of how shoot travel b-roll sequences without a plan.
PS: Sorry to my Buddhist friends for going into the cave with shoes. I knew this rule for normal temples and I always take my shoes off there. I just did not know that for the cave as I missed the sign during the shoot :-(
Of course, I will follow that rule next time I will be there and look more closely at other temples in the future!

1. Thank you for the tips. 2. I have a genuine question. Did the Buddhist agree to be shown on youtube? what about privacy rules? do you always check it in every country, ask people or just don't care (didn't think about it) unless someone will report she/he want to be removed? I'm asking here as I would like to respect people privacy not to mention follow the law ;) In the other hand people make this world more interesting...so it is nice to film them. How is your approach it?
I love how the dogs are minding their business in the background

The two dogs was a good subject to focus on too 😁
Your videos are always so helpful and well made. Excellent work mate! 👍
Your dedication and effort to this art of making videos is amazing. Glad to have found your channel.
This is my favorite video of yours, and looks like many people agree. Hopefully you'll do another one just like this, walking around, capturing shots, constantly explaining what you are doing and why.
The tunnels are epic! The final video looks amazing!!
New favourite channel. You have a great way of explaining concepts that makes it easy to understand. Thank you 🙏
Clean and simple to understand, this video made my day, can't wait for more
This was an amazing tutorial...thank you Pascal, for sharing your knowledge 🙏❤
Thanks for this video Pascal, it’s excellent. The title attracted me because I never have a plan with my B-roll. When I visit a place, the layout and circumstances spontaneously create the plan. Your summary is the best advice. Shoot for the edit. Always have storytelling in mind but spending time getting variations on a given sequence gives you maximum flexibility in post. Push-in, but also pull-out. Pan both right and left, Tilt-up as well as down. Don’t forget to get a wide shot of your telephoto to give it location. When you make a camera movement, also do a variation where you start with a held shot and end the move with a held shot. This gives you maximum flexibility for smoothly transitioning to your next clip, which can now be a static, pan right or left, reveal or whatever. Your advice to get fillers is important. They don’t even have to relate to the main subject. Colorful foliage moving in the breeze etc. My mindset is that I’ll only be in this place once in a lifetime so make the most of it.
This was great, so relaxed and explained fully. Love how you forgot some gear and improvised, so real life. Thx for sharing, much appreciated 🙏
Wow!!! Great tips and de final sequence is amazing!
You are amazing! No BS, straight to the point, and so clear and precise. Love it :) I’m trying to learn the art of making travel videos and most of the clips I find on YT are just crap, thanks a lot mate.

Great concept for a video. When I travel and have a rough idea of what I my video will be, but it is difficult to plan exactly until you get there. Sometimes you have a make a game time decision and go with the flow. Thanks and keep the great work.
Amazing tutorial and breakdown of your approach on things! Keep up the great work my friend, it is truly inspiring!
