That ladies and gentlemen is NOT how to shock any type of pool. Always dilute the powdered chlorine in a bucket of water first and then slowly pour the contents in the deep end in front of a return. If you have a variable speed pump, turn the speed at a higher setting. When shocking a salt pool, turn off (0%) or disconnect your Salt Water Chlorine Generator. If you have a heater, bypass it until your FC levels are back to an acceptable range (1-3ppm). And preferably, use liquid chlorine for salt pools. Lastly, superchlorinate function (100%) on a Salt Water Chlorine Generator will never bring up the FC levels to actually shock (kill algae) the pool.

You don't have to pre-mix it. Just add directly into pool water. I've been doing it that way for years with this specific shock. But I agree with removing the SWG as this shock contains Cal-Hypo, which you don't want to make contact with the generator.

@@razmigbartassian1080 If you use non-calcium based shock do you still need to turn off the SWG?

@@joet7136non calcium ? I mean that means you’re not using a chlorine pool.. you can always use fresh and clear/ oxy Shock, non chlorine and can swim within 30 minutes of using… most oxy shocks are used for salt and eco smarte systems 😊

Why are they silly? I’m a 20’year pool vet, they are better than straight chlorine but worse than a mineral pool… salt is still chlorine and soap many people don’t get that.. salt is highly corrosive as well. I do agree with you to an extent.. the biggest problem is the new state laws that don’t allow single speed pumps, these variable speed pumps are such trash in the north east.
