The thing that makes USPS so great is no traveling required unless you want to ship a day faster. USPS pickup is amazing for people without a vehicle, because it's free. Sure you can use UPS for pickup but it's not free

Great video my man! Got a new subscriber! I am just getting into the game. I am unsure how to determine shipping cost when listing an item before knowing what style of shipping I am going to use. Do you just use the calculator and see how much shipping would be for standard shipping to the furthest state away from you? Not sure if this makes sense. Thanks for the vids!

So just estimate the dimensions that your item will be in in the weight just to get a good feel for it. Then when you’re looking at what your shipping is just look at the cheapest option and that’s what you ship it. Unless the buyer pays for priority shipping you can send it whatever shipping you want. If you set the shipping as UPS ground or parcel select and they pay for that you can send it whatever shipping that you want to send it because they didn’t pay for priority. If you have free shipping setup, it doesn’t matter what you selected, you can send it the cheapest option.

Everyone should be careful with what they are sending as media mail. There are some strict rules about it. Yes most books can be sent but things like video games can not. Go check USPS info on it.

No it’s a flat rate so you have to use the flat rate boxes

@@MillennialProfit I worked at UPS for a brief time in my past history, and some of the smallest boxes coming down the conveyor belts would catch you off guard, holy hell some boxes of bolts weigh tons..

I'm new to all of this and it is confusing. How do you know how much shipping to charge in the write-up of an item for sale unless you know the address of the buyer? I see items for sale with a shipping amount in the description. How would they know the shipping cost without knowing exactly where the package would be going? I can easily get the weight of the item and the packaging, but that's as far as I can accurately go. I hope I made myself clear. Thank you. Your videos are great.

That’s why I said to use the shipping calculator and put in a ZIP Code that is worst case scenario. So for me this is Ohio to California and this is the most that it’s going to cost to ship so you can build that into your cost

The weight is the item plus all the packing materials. So yes, with the box and bag

Can address shipping in poly mailers? I'm trying to figure out how when is best and I don't really understand what method to chose when shipping in a poly. Also if the poly is over 18" they want you to chose something I'm not sure of.

If under a pound then ship first class. If over a pound then ship priority, parcel, ups, or FedEx, whatever is cheapest. Just weigh it in the poly and put the dimensions in and select the cheapest option. Super easy. Check this video out. I’ve used pirate ship and goshippo for Facebook and Mercari. For eBay i just ship through eBay. They have the same exact rates as pirate ship and goshippo

I wouldn’t. They charge you 2-3X more the rates you can get shipping from home. Just save the boxes and mailers you get in the mail.

No whatever service you buy the label from you just drop the package off there. So if you buy a USPS label then you take it to the post office and drop it off

So wait at the end what do you do with the products like do you bring it to the post office?

Yeah you just take them to the post office and they scan them. Or you can put them in your mailbox with your flag up. If you have too many, you can even schedule a USPS pickup for free

I have a pair of Ugg slippers to ship. They won't fit in the Priority Shoebox or even the Large Flat Rate Box. Can I modify a priority box? The shoes weigh 1.3oz, but I estimated 2lbs and 12x12x9. Ebay recommends Priority Mail, $9.25-$16.10. Help! (I don't want the shoebox to get crushed either). This is so hard. I guess just choose that option and find an Amazon box that fits when they sell???

Yeah you don’t have to use a priority box. You can use any box and send it priority or ups, whatever is cheapest

PayPal has the same rates as eBay. To make sure you’re making profits you should always estimate the shipping cost before buying the item. You can do this using the eBay shipping calculator to see what items will cost to ship and to see if there’s enough profit left.

If you choose Priority…weigh it and put in dimensions… is it the same cost no matter where it goes in the US??

No. Normal priority has different rates depending on where it’s going. The flat rates always stay the same but on packages under 5 lbs normal priority or parcel select will be cheaper 99% of the time.

Do you charge shipping separately (calculated), have a set price, or do you offer free shipping to the customer and just bump up the price to cover the shipping costs? I haven't listed anything yet in my store because I'm not sure what to do when it comes to charging/not charging for shipping.

I do free shipping on everything. I build that cost into my price, but to be competitive you have to list at trending prices. So if there’s not enough room there for profit then you don’t buy it

Do all post office's have these boxes? Just started selling on eBay sold 3 Tubes of toothpaste they changed me $11 to ship it they said it was the cheapest way to go.. please help

You can reuse priority boxes but only for their certain purposes. Priority flat rate boxes can only be used for that specific service. Any that just say “priority mailing box” on them can be shipped for normal priority, not flat rate

Priority cubic can be shipped just like normal priority. It’s just normal priority with under 14x14x14 dimensions
