    Hi Scott. Thanks for the comments. Yes I couldn't find the exact model on amazon. Here's the make and model. Sealey, SA720. Its quite expensive. The kit is just under £200 rrp. You might find it cheaper on the net. Cheers Calvin

    Hi Calvin. I’ve just bought these hedge trimmers and I was wondering how often you have to grease the gearbox and tend to the blades with lubricants?

  • @CalvinThomas05

    @CalvinThomas05

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi Ben. I grease the gearbox at the start of each season. Maybe once more mid season if I'm doing a lot of work with them. I lubricate at the start of each job and I spray about every 30 minutes sometimes less. I try to keep the blades wet ( lubricated ) because they wear when they're dry . All the best Calvin

    Calvin: Could I manually use a high-grit/rough sandpaper instead of a file or a disk machine? I am trying not to purchase all of the elaborate things I would need to do this, that, in total would cost me more than a new hedge trimmer.

  • @CalvinThomas05

    @CalvinThomas05

    Hi eddyvideostar. I would recommend a file before sand paper but if that's all you've got to use then yes sand paper would help better than not doing anything to them at all. Personally I would strip the blades and sharpen them with a file if I didn't have a grinder of any kind. Hope this bit of info helps. Cheers Calvin

    To Calvin: I appreciate your response. I believe that you are right and will get the appropriate file. Question: What do you mean by, "strip the blades?"

  • @CalvinThomas05

    @CalvinThomas05

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi. eddyvideostar. When I say strip I mean I sometimes tack the blades off the machine to sharpen them but you can just line up the blades like I am in the video. Cheers Calvin

    Dremel diameter too small; 4" grinder flaps too big. Your 2" type looks Goldilocks size. Thanks to you I'm checking out angled die grinders - - but not for £100!! Looking into SPTA pack for under £40 (with 1" , 2" and 3" pads, no longer available in UK , but still in France) but waiting for feedback on whether a 2HP 50L (Macafer) will actually do the job. In theory it has more than enough debit of air but want confirmation from an actual user (on Amazon France); two days in and no replies. Thanks again for this lead.
