So in short: I definitely have to buy a 15000 grid japanese whetstone instead of the 10000 one if I want to occasionally cut sticks for bushcrafting, yes?

Hi Ben, I use a DMT coarse bench stone to re-profile a damage edge, then work up to a finer grit, then strop, works well if you can’t afford a wheel or fancy machines

Please, don't chip the porcelain of your sink Ben, I'd feel bad! I just spruced up the edges on my Fiskars 8lb maul, X25 and X27. I bought a Nicholson Axe bastard file a few years back. I really like it. I bought a steel comb rasp to clean the filings from it to. Works really well.

My hy10 1.2 just broke within the first 30 min of use. Half of the edge just broke, 1,5 cm deep. Fck me xD 10 hrs of work in it. Still waiting for response from them. Had a 20 degree edge.

Yeah shoulda been fine at 20 degrees. Never seen so many axes break than by HB lol. Particularly arvikas. Let me know what the response is
