Finally! I have been waiting for someone to give the very basics on sewing papers. You are wonderful for this. I feel like everyone else assumes I know what I’m doing just because I own a machine! Well, I don’t! I only took a couple classes years back. I can’t wait to get started now. ❤
Hi from New Zealand 🇳🇿. Thank you for the tutorial. I'm going to have a go at this with my sewing machine
Thank you for another easy to follow, informative video. You are such a great instructor. You encourage us to try and give us the confidence to believe we can... Thank you!
Thank you Gi, great tutorial to show people who have been hesitant to sew on paper 🥰🌷❤️🌺

I bought a new little tiny sewing machine that I can keep on my desk so I can use sewing in my next journal. I have it all ready for July 1st for junk journal July 2024. I didn’t want to have to going all the way to my big machine. This was helpful. Thank you so much! Hugs, treen 💕💕💕

Learning to journal has encouraged me to start sewing again! I just love it! Still a bit intimidating the bobbin and I argue at times 😅 but I love how it adds your journals! 😊
Thanks so much for the inspiration ❤
Thank you! I had so many questions about paper sewing. I am an amateur quilter/seamstress, and when i first heard about sewing for journals i was intrigued! Thanks for answering the questions!

Thank you for sharing this! Like others, I’ve been hesitant to try using my machine to sew paper, afraid I’d ruin the machine. Your explanations are clear and very inspiring!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have been a bit afraid to try this. Definitely will have ago.🥰😊
Thanks for the tutorial, like you I don’t see on fabric other than joining it to paper and I have learned a couple of extra things about my lovely machine Take care xx
My friend gave me her first machine and I just had it serviced! Been having a blast with it !! 💕

Oh Gi this was so great. I just love the "no glue" who knew? You have made this sew so simple. My favorite and how I will do them from now on is the tag with coffee died backing and trim close "after" sewing, just brilliant. Thanks sew much, hugs and stay well.

Thank you for showing me how to sew on a brother I have an old brother that was given to me. It was helpful to see how slow I needed to go and the tension I needed to use. Great video. I’m new to junk journaling and have struggled trying to sew paper

Thank you for creating this very informative video! I been searching for something like this before I tried sewing paper on my machine. I was afraid of messing up my sewing machine. What was out wasn’t very instructive. I love Brother sewing machines. I had one and gave away a number of years ago because I stopped sewing. During CoVid, I purchased another Brother machine to make masks and some baby quilts but has been sitting collecting dust the last year or two. I have wanted to try sewing on paper and now, after this video, I realize I can use it 😊just fine for paper.

Thank you Gi. This was most helpful, lots of tips and advice. Just what I was looking for. 😊
I have been searching for months for a good video on this. Every sewing video talks about fabric (understandably) and the same “rules” don’t apply to paper. Tension and stitch length have been an issue for me. Also needle size. Thanks so much for this!

Thank you Gi. I had tried sewing on paper for a project I was working on. I did get frustrated with the tension and stitch size, gave up and just glued to finish the project. I will go back and practice with your instructions. Thank you again for your time, and videos. Blessings 🤗🌹

This is the same machine I have, bought it from Amazon! It was also reasonably priced. It’s fun sewing on paper! 🌞🦋

I just love my machine 😊
Me and sewing machines don’t get along 😂. I have a very cheap one, and every time I start to sew, I have to hold on to both of the threads. If I’m not holding onto them taunt, they just scramble up under the needle. Also, the speed is too fast, even at the lowest speed. So it makes it hard to stop at the right place to turn the paper. Guess I need to get a better one! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial! Hugs 🤗❤️

Oh no! My old machine was very temperamental like that! Hugs Gi x
Thank you so much for sharing this sewing tutorial Gi ❤ I have also been hesitant to sew on paper. I am thinking that if I use a needle only for paper and other ones only for fabric, I may still be able to use my machine for both?! For now at least. I have a Bernina 1000 from late 80’s and love it, do some maintenance once in a while and it is working great still.
Very helpful, thank you. I have a sewing machine but wasnt quite sure how to sew paper.

I have a brother like yours but I use it for sewing. I have an older one I want to get fixed and sew paper on. Does the paper cause particles to get in the machine?

I love my machine. I have not had any problems with my machine. Every now and again I will give it a good clean. I have a small little air blower which is used to clean a key board. I use that to blow any dust and fluff out. I will put a link u der the video. I hope that helps 😊 Hugs Gi x
Where did you get the cone thread holder?

Thank you , I am not a sewer. Are sewing machines expensive? Are they hard to use? I make cards to give away. I would like to do some sewing on my cards 😊😊😊

Hi! They can be expensive but if you look around at some local thrift stores, you can probably find one for just a few bucks 😊
@GiKerr

Like Susan said, they can be expensive but you can get some lovely little small machines that would do the same thing. Ask family or friends if you can borrow one! Just to give it a go to see if it is something you would like to do. Hugs Gi x
My thread is for sewing fabric and embroidery not paper. I use glue, glitter glue, glossy accents and waxed pigments to enhance papers, not thread.
