How to Sew Elastic Ribbons on Pointe Shoes
Elastics Ribbons are literally something that I never expected to like as much as I do these days, and it goes without a say that there's no way im going back to the conventional satin ribbon. That's why I want to share with you the tips and tricks that this new ballet ribbon requires.. all the way from measuring it to perfection, to sew it on your Pointe Shoes and of course the technique to actually put them on! you have a pretty smile, and a neat spanish/slightly uk english accent and have a classic timeless young lady asthetic, I dont specificaly dance this style but it was very discriptive on the topic of elastic ribbon sewing and thoughts on it. chao bella

Do you have to do the criss cross elastic? Is it okay to do the loop around the ankle

🙋🏻♀️ Hi!!! Regarding your first question, the elastics can go on a criss cross position or just one elastic that goes from one side to the other or some dancers don’t even wear elastics at all!! The second question got me a little confused… but if what you mean is if the RIBBON has to go making a loop around the ankle.. that’s correct, HAS TO GO ALL THE WAY AROUND :))

Hi! I’m afraid I can’t give you a name since I buy them from a little store out of a huge roll and they aren’t related at all to ballet 🙈 But the ones from freed are just as nice, maybe a little more expensive but lovely quality 💕
Can I saw them the same way I did with regular ribbons;

I’m afraid it’s not possible! If you follow this method with regular ribbons you won’t be able to even put them on because they cannot stretch. And if you can they will be too loose to dance on them. I have a blog post with a step by step on how to sew regular ribbons :)
