How to Sew a Drawstring Box Bag by Debbie Shore
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This useful drawstring bag is quite deceptive, it makes a large storage box, perfect for sewing notions or knitting yarns! It’s quite a quick make, which means if you’re making to sell you can ask a good price. Once you’ve made one it’s easy to work out how to make them larger or smaller, to accommodate whatever you need to store!
The bag was originally a live sew-along for my half yard Sewing Club, for details visit www.halfyardsewingclub.com
Materials:
Five 9” [23cm] squares of each of outer and lining fabric
45” x 9” 114cm x 23cm] fusible fleece [H640]
10” x 12” [25cm x 30cm] lining fabric for the channels
80” [204cm] of 1.2” [1cm] wide ribbon
Fuse fleece to the wrong sides of the outer fabric

What a great tutorial and design, thank you Debbie. Just finished mine & am so pleased with it - & you're right, it holds loads - I can hardly lift it!😅.
So glad you show how to sew in the botttom...best exolanation and demo. Ive seen of this tricky technique. Thank you.
I made one of these and it was fun to do. Your instructions make it easy! I love how it turned out and use it to store my current knitting project. Thank you for all you share!
Definitely going to make one for my mum for mother's day. I know it's Sunday, I will make it the day after.
I’m going to make one with inside pockets, it will be great for my storing baby toys for my expectant grand daughter.
Beautiful design Debbie thankyou for the pattern xx
Definitely going to try this, it will make a fabulous big make up storage bag ❤
Brilliant idea, a good size and looks easy enough to do👏👏☺️
Wow! Love it. Pretty colors.
Love it! Thank you very much. I always enjoy your tutorials. Keep up the great work.
Loved making this on the sew along!
Absolutely beautiful.

That is so cute 😊
Grazie per il tutorial Molto carino e utile 💡spiegazione perfetta👍 SALUTI DALLA SARDEGNA 🌺
Very pretty fabric
Love it Thank You 🙏 ❤️💙💚💜
Very nice!
Thanks for sharing very nice❤
I'm thinking this would make a great take away food bag. (In the USA, many take away boxes are square, styrofoam.) The fleece makes it insulating to keep the food warm until I get home. 💖🌞🌵😷
Thankyou Debbie
Thanks debbie
Great idea, I 😍😍
Superb
Another great tutorial for me to try. Looks like really useful storage. Would you be able to tell me if you have any patterns for a saddle bag in any of your books? Thanks again for all the hard work.

I’m afraid I don’t, but I’m glad you liked this one!
I love this so much that I would like to make this for myself as a purse. However, I need to put on some shoulder straps. Where should I place them? Thanks.
I’m a beginner, and just found your channel, love watching the videos and already plan to try a few. Question though, I know nothing about the interfacing… I saw gobs of it at the fabric store but didn’t know what to buy or how to use. Could I use batting instead, or will it shift out of place? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, I think I need to find an interface tutorial!
What fabric is lining? Does it have any fusible on it or will just any fabric do?
I'm sidetracked by your organized hanger thingy behind your head on the wall! Do you have a tutorial for that? 😍
