Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video - our friend Maggie from Paisley and Glue teaches us how to do a continuous lap placket - which is a great technique for cuffs, collars, fittings, dresses, and waistbands. She has a lot of great examples and a ton of talent, so this was really fun to film with her!

Oh yes an excellent bit of sewing advice. I’ve been looking for ways to make different necks on my top so I’ll try this on my next one. X Thank You sexy Jesus. Lol 😝
Holy Mackerel! Seems a fortnight of madness in the mazes of Micheals! Brothers and Sisters! Another sermon from on high by the Selvage of our Sew-uls, Sewing Jesus. Verily before our eyes another Ascendent Archangel, Maggie, has straight stitched our faith. Oh Maggie, most glorious, thank you for this blessing upon the humblest of our garments.

Ah, so that is what a lap placket is. LOL I reverse engineered one when I was copying a top I bought in the store a few years ago. Now off to check out Paisley and Glue to see if she has a video about that clapper she used. I’ve never seen one before. Than you Tock for another great collaboration video. Keep them coming.

I probably drove through your town on the way there then lol. I did a whole Midwest video tour last month (Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Iowa City, and St Louis)! Hope you're having a terrific weekend :)
This was a good tutorial, I don't think I ever have reason to do it but it was well explained. I just wish she used a contrasting thread to show the stitches.

Is this the same technique as used for polo shirts?
@TockCustom
3 жыл бұрын
It's very similar, but a bit different. I really should do a video on polo shirts, or button top t-shirts - those look so great. Thanks for the recommendation :)
Any chance you could do a future video on how to do a tower placket? I'm having a heck of a time figuring out tutorials on that, even though the storebought shirt I'm wearing literally has a tower pleat on it. It feels like there's some origami magic that I'm missing.
Thank you. Can tou make video about shirt pattern please

Always good stuff Tock! Random question, do you know of any good books on techniques for costume sewing/making?
@TockCustom
3 жыл бұрын
For sure! Happy to help! I'd recommend a new book called "Creative Cosplay" written by my friend Amanda Haas - or Kamui Cosplay has a few books on sewing costumes and cosplay techniques :) Both are great options!
How wide was the strip of fabric used for the placket?
