We used wear play suits as children in the 50’s . This is great!

I’ve made a few for my daughter
My kid just said he loves the wallpaper and then “wait! She has a silver play button!” And gave you a standing ovation! I just had to share!

I am so honored! Your kid has wonderful groovy taste 🤗
That stitch you didn’t know the name of, I grew up calling it stem stitch :)

I learned it as outline stitch and what she called chain stitch I learn to call it a seed stitch. I think it depends the area live in and what they call it. But she has really done a nice job for the level of experience she has. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Adorable. I like the color combo and the longer overskirt.
I liked your comment about the bubble creating curves. I now have an appreciation of them not marred by my grade 8 gym class romper. Thanks for sharing.

Yes I came on to say that it was great to learn the purpose of that fashion styling. Most weird styles do have a historical purpose but it’s sometimes hard to see. I’m familiar with Victorian techniques to adjust body proportions - padding, bum rolls, corsets etc - but with body’s being less covered in the 50’s it was harder for women to get the curvy shape that was in fashion. Enter the bubble butt and the halter top for curve maximisation!
You make the cutest outfits

The halter straps are amazing. Very nice. The whole outfit is nice.
Everyone is right. It’s adorable!!
I found the biggest key with embroidery was a tight hoop.
Your sons matching tropical outfit is so cute!

A workhorse. When you were top stitching the waistband did you use a slightly longer stitch? 🩷

I wish they still made embroidery hoops with the thumb rest. I miss mine!
I love the contrast pattern on the halter ties, so chic! Definitely worth the time it took to embroider them
The kuffiyah embroidery is such a nice touch. ❤❤
Love this project. So flattering yet practical.
You’re so lucky to have that red material look so gorgeous on you.
I used to have that exact model Kenmore machine! That was a long time ago, early '80s, I think. The outfit is adorable!

It’s so cute!
I love the outfit
I love it!! You are so creative, doing embroidery on the neck wrap is the perfect embellishment. It is stiffer with the interfacing, but I rather prefer it in this situation as it makes the neck wrap present better. I also love the poofy bottom u chose. Not everyone can pull off the look, but u certainly nailed it. Great job, and as usual u look stunning in the outfit!❤❤

As well as the poppy ❤
Love it! So so cute .
I adore the finished outfit - SO cute. I'm impressed by your patience for doing the embroidery. I'd get part way in, put it down to take a break, and then never get back to working on it.
So fun! I really need to use some Gertie patterns.
That is lovely!
Looks very nice. The only thing I would have done different was add a thin fabric to line the skirt so you don't see the backside of the floral fabric.
So cute!
So cute!!
This is so lovely. Definitely inspiring me to do some keffiyeh inspired embroidery since i cant afford to buy one, but have a big stash of embroidery floss

I’ve been really hoping the factory would restock, but they haven’t so I think it’s better to make my own instead of buying Fakes online. It felt like a true labor of love
Wow this was great Rena! ❤ ok girl no need for sore fingers if you use a thimble... I love your fabric and expanding your range . I also wanted to say I enjoyed you on Stephanie Canada's game show the other day. Hope you had as much fun as it was to watch! You did well . Did you get to bring home all those' guess the fabric ' 😂 Enjoy your family 🙏💗👍

Hahaha thanks so much I’ve given up on thimbles because I always switch fingers when I wear one. I did take some fabric home 😂
Gorgeous! Red looks amazing on you❤ I’m such a Gertie Stan too-it’s almost impossible to find any vintage garments or sewing patterns in my size! I’ve been wanting to try this halter version of lamour so you are inspiring me to add it to my queue
