Many thanks. My new fibre broadband seemed plagued by quite a drop off in speed and signal strength between the downstairs router and the upstairs office. I ordered the same model as you demonstrate here and did method three. Worked exactly as you show. Much less drop off now. Very pleased.

I was struggling to setup my extender after my router password was set. You video helped me sort this issue in simple steps.

I just covered two pieces of cardboard about 14’x8” with Aluminum foil, and I keep them wherever I am in the house . Works great, wave it around your iPad or iPhone and watch the WiFi signal shoot to the top bar. It brings the signal through the walls. Found this cheap trick on the Internet.

After 3hrs I finally resolved the issue.

I bought two mesh wifi extenders (RE200), will both devices show the same network names? One for 2.4G Hz and the other for 5G Hz? Can I use the WPS button to configure both extenders at the same time with host router?

Hi, this is a shout out for Tips 2 fix. I have just installed my TP link and it is working perfectly. I used the phone method and followed the video instructions. Why the shout out? Well, I tried two other videos but to no avail, however, his very clear instructions helped me out. I would add one thing. If your TPlink doesn't work in the intended room, connect it to a socket nearer the router. It will still work in the intended room.

I’ve been wondering about the thing you added. I’m trying to extend the WiFi out to my garage which is now a sound proof studio that is about 30-50 feet from my modem inside my house so I was curious where I’d put the extender and if the signal would be able to reach. From your experience what do you think?

@@johnboyc5 hi John, I don't profess to be an expert but it would seem that connecting closer to the modem would work. Failing that there is the " bells and whistles' option boost's the wi-fi to everywhere in the vicinity but it costs 3 times the price. I was fortunate to buy mine from a shop which offered to let me try the single option first before the multi option. Is a cable out of the question ❓ Best of luck.

Do you know if this would work for just connecting it for personal internet for just helping your phone's mobile internet? Hope that makes sense. Like will it automatically connect to your mobile hotspot or phones internet you think and help your phone's internet?

can you please answer? so when I setup this I can plug it anywhere right? (of course in range of main source router) and second question: my router is a bit far from the room where I need internet and it has connection only at entrance, will this extender work for me or wifi repeater would be a better choice?

The instructions in the box are for junk.This gentleman gave me the detailed way to connect for a non-geck. I used his first method. Thank you

does the extender come with an ethernet cable?

Question: What if I just connect a LAN cable from the extender straight into my laptop ? I know if you connect from a router there's no need for set up or anything but because of my position, connect from router to laptop is not possible but from the extender is possible. So is there any extra setup or do I just like that and plug it in ?

Hi. I try to access the extender from the wifi on my Mac computer. They want a password. I can’t link to it without a password. What do I do? I have a modem connected to an airport as my router. hi bro can we connect two range extender with a single network switch via a ethernet cables. both range extenders connect with the main Router. and both feed the internet net to the same network switch via ethernet cable. and the all the connected devices to the network switch get internet will connecting to range extenders to one network switch improve the speed and reliability

Dealing with same issue..can only connect to ethernet. I have two extenders they are PC-link Deco version but they are a different model AC1200 model Deco M4?? Our internet got shut off via spectrum for a few days and we had to go back to regular router without extenders bc we cant get the extenders up and running. I will try this but not sure what to do about the ethernet

PC config didn't work, neither app. Then using wps the router password didn't work. I found the wps password on the tether app, when I tried previously to install without success, because there was no signal between router and extender. The wps password is a long list of numbers. I was able to use extender only with wps config, I have a fritz box 7530.

What is the function of yellow cable and the bottom Ethernet port?

What if my house has mesh wifi or it doesn't give me an option but I know it's on 5g .can I still connect??

can we use same SSID?

Hello. So I have the extender plugged in. There is a light on, But it doesn't look like my desktop computer is recognising it, as it does not show up if go to "open network and internet settings/change adapter options. The router does not have WPS button, but a reset button.

U plug the usb into the computer and u click on your wifi bar hit connect to extender so it can pair , it doesn't just pair by u ending up just plugging into the wall

@@ericgarrison3569 hI. i returned it to the shop I had bought it from, because I found it to be of no more value than the repeater which I already had. But before that a lady from the company TP-link brought me through the steps to set it up. I'm not quiet sure what USB you are referring to though. I have returned to the repeater, which is much the same in look and connections as the TP extender, and there is no usb involved.

Can I set this up from a mobile device for home? I don't have a laptop

If extender can catch the other modem waves with good quality strength than it will extend strongly good qualty, the same quality that extender recive !! If recive bad internet (low signal strength) will extend strongly bad internet

How to connect to a hidden network? I put my SSID on hidden and accidentally reset the device now I can’t find the network and tried enter manual info but it’s not connecting

sorry for late reply, this mean that the connection between your phone and Wi-Fi extender its secure and its okay but between Wi-Fi extender and internet router you miss the connection did you changed Wi-Fi internet router name? this usually happened when you change the Wi-Fi name
