    Because it's a tip for people who didn't learn to tie any knots. Anyone who can tie two half hitches won't ever need this tip. And you use midshipman's hitches around your stakes to make it adjustable. The idea is to use fewer steps and make it less complicated. So, that's why I downvoted it. Not every innovation is genius. This one ins superfluous.

    Although this is simply common sense, it's clearly stated, and executed, within an excellent video. My question is not only about this video, but this one is a fine example of what I see far too often, and don't grasp. There are 2% thumbs down, but no negativite comments, so what possible negative thoughts do people have on this??? I see no reason at all to down this one?

  • @JasperJanssen

    @JasperJanssen

    KZread has overloaded the thumbs down. It doesn’t just mean “I hate this fucking video, it’s awful”, it also means “this may be a perfectly fine video but I’m not interested in this or anything like it, please don’t show me any more.” So if the algorithm is recommending your video to... well, anybody at all, really, you’re gonna collect thumbs down.

    I like it and want to try it. The only negative I can see, and again, I have to try it, is that with no attachment through the inner grommets, will the tarp slip off due to wind, rain load, snow load, etc? I like the idea, and the adjustability part as well.
