    Great video Gavin! What we are doing in case there is a surprise clutch is keeping a tub of RODI water and a tub of dry vermiculite in the incubator. That way we can mix it real quick if needed and it is already up to temperature. :)

    Hey man, found you thanks to Brian Kusko's vlog. Just wanted to say, you're the first person that I think I've seen to post an "idiot proof" egg box. Honestly ive been a bit worried about the water to substrate mixture thing that everyone else seems to do because it's kinda hard to judge off of sight when you have no clue what you're doing, so this seems fantastic to me really. Love the reasoning behind your name too by the way. I'll definitely be watching more of your videos in the next few weeks. Thanks for the great video!

    Dear Mr Ball 2U, I just had another of my fantastic (maybe silly) ideas: Have you considered writing a book about Ball Pythons? BP care, husbandry, breeding, passion for the hobby, etc... Oh... better yet, maybe getting someone else to write it for you, like an intern!! Yeah, a Uni PhD student (aka slave labour) of animal biology or Vet specialising on herptology!!

    Really?! Well... it's something to think about and work on it for the next few years. I don't know how busy your life is but you could act as a supervidor (less work for you) because basically you have done most of the heavy lifting already. I mean... you would just select the main youtube videos, tell the intern to watch them and make a resume with a significant contribuition to science... and there you go... that's a PhD thesis right there!!! I've been in academia and I've seen a lot worst, beleive me. they publish any crap these days... ;P And I know that the information you present is valid and has a lot of significance for the hobby think about it cheers mate

    Hi Gavin, does the actual incubator need air holes? Im thinking of getting a drinks cooler, would that need some kind of ventilation? Cheers mate.

  • @Balls2U

    @Balls2U

    5 жыл бұрын

    Not really however, the incubator won't be air tight as the holes drilled for the heat cable and sensor will allow for a bit of airflow

    Here is a question. If my egg boxes maintain 99% humidity with no condensation on the lids with no plastic wrap do i need to do anything else? I feel the tiny gap around the lid gives enough airflow. Maybe open once a week to allow more air flow? What are your thoughts?

  • @Balls2U

    @Balls2U

    4 жыл бұрын

    I use a small air hole either ends to help with air flow and I dont have to lift the lid untill they hatch

    I have a question for you or even your followers! I have a female that I was absolutely positive she was bred she locked with my Male like 15 times from September to November. She was getting HUGE, laying upside down, bowl wrapping, cool skeeking, she shed and she was super bright and clean looking. So I thought that shed was post ovulation shed was on December 18th. Well now shes looking thin and kinda flat and just sits in the middle of her tub. I thought that she should have laid by now but it doesnt seem like shes going to lay. When would you go ahead and say safety isnt going to lay? Would you start trying to introduce a Male to a female that didnt lay?

  • @TJHutchExotics

    Chasing The Fish - she more than likely reabsorbed her eggs if she was full of them. I’m by no means an expert, but if she’s healthy I would try pairing her again. I see this is a year old- did you? Did you have success?
