Nate, you are my how to long distance pro shop. Whenever I have an issue with a bow, usually setting up a new bow, I watch and rewatch your videos. I've said it before but you are a natural teacher for sure. I was having timing issues with my QAD HDX ultra rest, with left side fletchings occasionally being torn off leaving the rest. I went back to this video and was able to check everything from the set up stage and fix the problem. I wish your bow shop was a bit closer as I am out in Washington State, but your videos are the second best thing to paying you a visit. Thanks so much for your excellent content.

I agree, I live hours away from a bow shop. I got all setup at home. If I ever need to look something up(like setting up my new hamskea) I always look for Nate's video's first

I like to use the fluffy side from self adhesive velcro. Very cheap and it lasts quite a while. I'm shooting a Vapor trail Pro V limb driven rest now with very good results. Easy to setup and I've never had any timing issues.

Wipe the oil that comes on it off with a bit of acetone/alcohol/paint thinner, and use stealth strips for your felt! Will stick forever.

Id like to see the limb driven Hamskea on a draw board. You mark to power stroke, then mark the 50 and 70. Showing moving the cord to axel and away. Showing the amount of support it gives.🎉

Instead of felt I use a piece of "Moleskin" for foot callous and corns. It's stays forever and it's way softer than felt.

They are the same if you want the rest up on the cable rest you can just reach all the way across the bow and flick it up but if you dont there is also an arrow rubber arrow holder that just sticks infront of the rest. People always say well you can fix the limb driven one with a shoe string but you can do the same with the cable rest its not rocket science. I never seen a cable rest in my life and decided to try it out and 5 minutes and i was shooting perfect groups its not as hard as a lot of people make it out to be.😂😂 I think most people that say its harder has never even tried it. I ended up buy two one for my son and he is shooting amazing groups also. I shoot a PSE and my son shoits a bear.

I went from prong rests, to the Muzzy MZE, to a Vapor Trial Limb Driver. All simple and bullet proof. I picked up a cable driven rest (Trophy Ridge Sync) because it was cheap and available to go on a backup bow. I wish I would have just gotten another Vapor Trail. I don't understand why people like cable driven drop-aways. They must have never owned a Vapor Trail or Hamskea.

Owned both and went back to QAD. Net zero switching from cable to limb driven rest. Really just put more weight onto my bow for nothing other than the delusion of increased reliability and accuracy.

So if I’m understating correctly you draw the bow. Let the rest pull the cord to the desired length and you tie the knot right there? You don’t pull another 1/8 inch or anything like that through and then tie the knot or burn? I know this seems to be the talk sometimes

I've been having nothing but trouble with my QAD rest. The adjustment is horrendous: You adjust vertical and horizontal offset by loosening / tightening two screws. Tightening the screws will throw off your adjustments if you do not push the rest with significant pressure towards the riser. I've been fiddling with this for more than a week; each evening 1-2h... I finally got it to shoot straight, but I am not a fan at all. Next time I'll check if they have different adjustment methods for their other rests. Great content as usual!

@@averagejackarchery thanks. There were a couple of things I do like about. The anti-bounce lockdown, the micro tune and the fact is it all metal and the price point of $159.99 (Cabela’s and LAS). In comparison do you like the QAD Integrate R2? If you carry the R2 what’s your price?

How would you set up a drop away on a newer pse thru the yoke with the p.b.t.s. would you set it up like a cable driven or set it up like a limb driven?

is there a correlation between vertical paper tears and arrow rest timing? I would guess a high paper tear would be improved by speeding up the rest drop, and a low paper tear would be improved by slowing down the rest drop. does that seem correct to you?

Have you shot a bareshaft through paper? If the bareshaft is a bullethole and your fletched arrow hits nock high your rest might indeed be too slow.

@@TomsonTheOne How about the bareshaft with a nock high? Could it be a rest timing issue then? Say your cam timing is perfect.

Question, I have shot my bow with the timing of a cable driven rest being off and of course the arrow slams into the launcher on the way out. How much will that effect the internals of the launcher. I do not have much confidence in these rests after and feel like the mechanism isnt as smooth. Thanks.
