    Thanks Omar for this video! Because I had no idea how to adjust the white balance on my XT-2! And I got lazy searching for it in the camera manual! But you explained it very well how to adjust the white balance manually! Thank you again Omar and have a nice day 👍🏼

    Hi Omar, was hoping you could help me with this. I would like to set up a custom white balance to one of my custom film simulation presest. eg- C2 to have auto white balance with -1 R and +1 blue. But when I change it to C1, it reverts automatically to WB (with all at default 0).

    Hello! I’m having trouble regarding saving my white balance in the custom setting for the film simulation. Whenever I switch to the next custom film sim it will carry the white balance SHIFT that was set on the first one I have tried on. Tried resetting the custom settings but no luck. I am using an XT3 by the way

    Hi Omar, great video on the white balance settings. Do you recommend setting a custom white balance doing indoor studio shoot? As an example, I will be doing some indoor shoot of lay flat clothes for a friend. He wants a pure white background. Will the custom white balance help? Thanks! Yang

  • @ogonzilla

    @ogonzilla

    7 жыл бұрын

    If you are concerned about the color of the clothes than definitely yes!! You'll want to have a neutral grey card for reference as a starting point. If possible, shoot RAW as well so that you can play with color balance in post production. If you're only able to do jpeg, try shooting in a neutral film simulation like pro neg. good luck!

    would be nice to be able to adjust the order of the various options as I like to have Auto>Daylight>Incandescent and often better to have Auto>Incandescent so either as 1 & 2 or one and last. Often one can be exposing using flash or incandescent so a simple change and shutting off the flash is useful and quick. For fluorescent if one has control use daylight fluorescent bulbs so auto works perfectly fine. .jpg quality out of the X T20 is superb but sometimes one may wish to quickly add RAW to the mix and return to .jpg depending upon circumstances. Now if Fuji would do a firmware update for the X T20 and allow the front Command dial to be programmable but for now using the Q button will have to suffice.

    Auto White Balance in X-T20 can be really bad. I was shooting outside last August. The weather was changing from Sunny to Cloudy.My X-T20 was set to AWB. All the cloudy pics presented an awfull and strong yellow color cast. So intense that I spent many time trying to correct the WB. Finally, I now have something that is correct. It appears that the loght was so diffuse that the picture are definitly flat and definitly, the best way to obtain better results is to .... shoot again... So I decided to take care of my white balance within my camera, even If I shoot RAW. It's less time consumming when retouching and in my opinion, way more efficient and less frustrating. The funny thing is that I discovered an old photo shooted with My good old Canon Rebel T3i (EOS 600D) with the same subject (cows in a field), same light (cloudy grey sky) and AWB setting.... Guess what ! Same result. Apparently, AWB is not your friend in flat light due to cloudy shade. I suspect the camera trying correct a diffuse blue light comming from the cloud. That's why I have an awfull yellow color cast.

    Thank you for the helpful video. I was hoping you'd address the fact that Fujifilm cameras (I have the X-T1 and X-T3) don't have a WB preset for FLASH. Very odd that they have three different florescent settings and a WB setting for underwater (?!), but no flash preset. Also, this is only the second video of yours that I've watched and I notice you mispronounced "videographer" in both videos. This is an old video, so maybe someone else has already pointed it out, but it appears you tend to add an extra "o" in the middle of the word.

    Hi Omar, I have one question regarding Fujifilm RAW files. Whenever I'm editing raw files in lightroom, the colors are changing and not the same what I've captured and not same with the camera-rendered in JPEG file. Is there any setup in the camera to have the same colors as one from JPEG file when shooting in RAW Format? Appreciate your reply. Thank you.

  • @ogonzilla

    @ogonzilla

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes. Think of the raw as a blank version of the jpeg you like. It needs some work. One way i make my raws mimic the jpegs is by using Lightroom or Capture One's film simulation color profiles. It's gets you close. Fuji also makes a desktop editor to make jpegs from your raws but you have to have the camera connected You're not going to be able to exactly match what the camera does. I'd say use the in camera raw processor to get jpegs.

    If you update to the newest Lightroom CC it should work. If you have Lightroom 6 or older, you're out of luck. No new support. You'll have to convert your raw using Adobe's free Raw Converter. Quite a pain.
