    Your install video for the "Toshiba Portable Air Conditioner" was incredibly helpful, and I appreciate your personal tips and touches. I'm a senior female (70 trips around the Sun) and was able to install it myself. You saved me $150 (which is what the A/C Guy charged me for his 20-min. install last year). Thank you SO much, Tom ~ Enjoy the day!!

    Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! kzread.infoUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    For the bottom plus, you could just put the unit up on a couple of cinder blocks. Then you could just put an entire bucket under the thing and let it drain and easy access. Just set it up higher than floor level.

  • @TomLeeman

    @TomLeeman

    10 ай бұрын

    No, you do not add water but you will have to drain water out of it as the condensation is stored in the upper and lower parts of the machine. They do give you a tube that you can attach to trade it into a bucket or you may have to pick the machine up and tilted a little bit to get the bottom drain to purge but do not add water. Keep cool the summer and thank you for watching.

    I was recently gifted this unit from a friend who used used it for about half the summer last year. I have no experience maintaining AC units and was clueless to the fact it it required such frequent draining. What happens to the unit if it is never properly drained, stored for winter and then brought back out and runs every day? Will it overflow if too much water is collected? Turn off automatically? I will drain first thing tomorrow but dang! Glad i ran unti into this video so didnt end up breaking it!! Ŕ .

    I am glad that the video helped we’re in Florida and we have to drain it every day when we use it so depending on how humid it is where you’re at will depend on the frequency of draining, but check it after you run it for 24 hours and see how much water is in it that’ll give you an idea of how soon you should be draining it if it shows up, it will automatically turn off

    I always use dish liquid to wash my filter and dry it off with a clean dish towel. This way it's is clean and might not grow mold. When you drain put a dish towel in the pizza pan so it will not spill when you pick it up to discard the water. Wipe the unit on the outside so it stays clean .I live in FLORIDA too and had to throw away my window unit every few years because it grew mold. So I'm hoping this unit will last a bit longer and not grow mold. Thank you for such an informative video on how to install the unit. 🤗🏝🏖🌅

  • @TomLeeman

    @TomLeeman

    10 ай бұрын

    That’s a great question I’m not quite sure why they have two drains one I know it is for the condensation and depending on how humid the environment you’re going to have a lot of water in both. I’ll have to do some research on that. Thanks for watching.🤙😎
