Thank you SO much for making this video! I had almost given up hope of using my remote when I stumbled across this video. For those with a Microsoft Surface, I HAD to use the "A button + Start" to turn on the remote and then connect to "Wireless Controller" in order for the remote to show up in Joy to Key. When I turned it on with the "R button + Start", like every Mac tutorial shows, I ended up connecting to "8BitDo Controller" or something like that and for whatever reason, the controller was connected (I went to NotePad and could type keys with the remote) but did NOT show up in Joy to Key.

Thank you SO much for writing this comment. I used R + start and there was nothing happening in joytokey. How did you found that you need connect with A + start?:)
