Does this work for 1/10 scale? Is the starter box wheel easy to change directions, for the sideways engines?

Welcome back. It's been a while since we've played with a 2.0, but if memory serves us correct, the flywheels are all the same size on all of the Losi/ TLR nitro vehicles. Some however have taller engine mounts for pull start clearance which raises the engine/ flywheel, making it hard for a starter box wheel to reach the flywheel.

RCDriver_Online I was thinking the same... I thought all TLR 1/8 scales had all the same flywheels... first thing I'm going to do when I get it is set the flywheel up to the starter box. Thanks again for the video!

What if you have more rhan one model nitro car but one starter box. I dont want to carry around 2 boxes. Best way to adapt starter box for 2 cars so they both line up with wheel. Any ideas??

How about a video for setting up the car? Such as replacing or modifying the motor mounts to adjust the height. Adjusting motor mount to realign mesh of the gears.

My starterbox always grinds on my chassis. Doesnt get to the engine. Cant centre my car on it right.

Having trouble with nitro .21 engine. Buggy starts and then stops with a loud ping noise. It's a pull start, then installed a electric starter plate. The one that uses the dogbone shaft. Just like a F1 car. I believe that it's got something to do with the floating spring and pin... thinking about just going to a starter box. Any advice on this PING sound would be truly appreciated. Thanks

it sounds like it could be a bad clutch engaging at too low rpm, stopping the engine. dont take this advice that seriously tho im new to nitro aswell

you don't need to do any thing as long as you have a starter box you just put it on then push down then it turns the engine over

Most racing engines do not have a pull or roto-start option so a starter box is necessary.

Nice explanation and good video. But honestly, the starter box has got to be the lamest way to start a nitro engine. Can't beat pull-start.
