Exactly my situation. Actually, I unboxed the Berkey and looked at the instructions and fell into a funk and it's all been sitting on a table for three months.

weird because it took 5 minutes to do here. the unit was in one box, sleeved inside itself and so easy to put together a child could do it.

I was tearing my hair out trying to follow the written instructions that came with my Berkey. Your video was so well done and calm and easy to follow. Thank you so much!

My filter has been sitting in my closet for years. Plan on setting it up this week.

We just got a Berkey last week and I'm in LOVE!!!! I like to drink about a gallon of water a day. But going to the store to refill 5gal jugs every week was such a PAIN that I found myself not drinking as much... Since we got our Berkey I can't stop drinking water knowing that I can simply refill it everyday straight from the tap!

I just received my Big Berkey bundle today after purchasing it through a Black Friday sale. I watched your video twice before attempting to put it together. I did have trouble getting the gaskets snug enough but finally stopped and started again and that time they did not leak! Your tutorial really helped me because I am a visual learner and working on an old habit of thinking I am not able to put things together by myself. I did it and I am proud! The fluoride filters are backordered and I look forward to getting them as I have tap water. My next project is to make some sourdough starter and begin cooking with it. I tried it a few months ago and woke up one morning to find it was traveling down my countertop and headed to find me! LOL This time I will make less (I live alone) and use a covered storage jar like you do. I did find a glass container like yours at a thrift shop so I am ready to try again.

I just received mine today.. thank you for this video and awesome recommendation. I'm so excited for my family to have better drinking water. These instructions are much easier to follow.

So glad you made this video! I'm good at putting kits together, but I looked at this and thought "What...? This makes no sense..." Never would have guessed the water comes out of the screws.

Thanks for these simple instructions! I was super confused by the MFG instructions not to mention the blue ballon thing that wouldn’t fit any of my faucets to prime the filters.

Me too Carrie. At first I was wondering if the blue was susposed to be facing in or out. lol. Disassembled the spigot multiple times before figuring it out. Thats just how I swing. Takes me awhile to figure things out.

After soaking the plastic spicket in vinegar the calcium deposits should come off. I’d hang on to it for a back up or another DIY with a spicket.

I've had my Crown Berkey sitting in the garage in its original box for 14 years!" and never opened it up until NOW! I know, silly me. Also, with only 4 adults living in the house, it will last longer than when we had 9 living here. * I'm starting a bunch of micro-greens in the room next to the kitchen, so I'll be super happy to use Berkey water with these seedlings & sprouts. Thanks for the excellent video! 😅

Thank you so much! I just got the travel (one person fam!) and the directions that came with the Berkey were a bit intimidating. Your video is easy to follow and it was set up in no time…the only problem I had was a technical difficulty on my part. I thought the Berkey was a flawed unit. As I was putting it on my counter (looks beautiful!) it began leaking everywhere from the spigot. What???? I learned that I had the lever on the ‘on’ position when I thought it was in the off. Lesson learned….;)

Btw the gaskets are rounded probably to go with the curve of the berky. Her inside gasket was backwards

The new gaskets are rounded on both sides. Mine is .You can’t put it on the wrong way. Both sides are identical.

I put my filters in the bottom. Thanks for the video. I need to go change them. Lol

Hallo Lisa, thank you for this very clear and nice video. I have installed my new 2.25 galon Berke water filter, but I see that not all the water is filtered and there is till remaining under my two filters. What could be the reason because all the water has to be filtered I guess. Now I do a 2nd filtering of the water before I start to drink it. Thanks for your answer in advance :)))

I just replaced my filters and the new ones STREAM the water through when it is very full on top. After some time they slow down to fast drips. Is there something wrong with them? I cannot find a good answer online and I love your helpful videos :)

Haha!! When I bought my small embroidery hoops to make my cable knit sweater ornaments, I was mad because the metal was “blue” so I spray painted them. Then the paint curled the blue plastic so I realized it was a plastic coating and I had to peel it all off. I doubled my work for no good reason... 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Thanks for this video....I am just now putting mine together! I feel like I can not tighten the silver spigot tight enough and when I turn it on or off the whole spigot moves around!! Not just the handle but the whole spigot :( is this normal??

Great video I’ve been struggling with getting this filter system to work correctly and mine did not come with the plug so I’ve been bamboozled into trying to figure this out. Now I figure I am currently missing pieces 😢😢

I ordered the upgraded ss spigot. I noticed on the box Berkey is spelled out on the spigot. On mine I only got "B". Does anyone know why?

Quick question: if it filters everything it says it does, then why is there the calcium build up on the spicket?

Do you have to run water through the filter a couple times before drinking it..?

Do you find the plastic spigot lets water out very slowly compared to the stainless one?

This might be a dumb question but, if the Berkey is filtering the water shouldn't it filter the calcium out BEFORE it reaches the spigot?

You can still have hard water with well water. We have a well and have very hard water. It's still better than city water though.

I’m not getting it. I have clear rings and white nuts....

Hello Lisa. I decided to take the plunge and get this Berkey. Thank you so much for your detailed reviews. It helped me make some decisions. One question I have to begin with. I've bought bottled water for years for the taste and convenience. My family and I live in Texas where it is super Hot - most of the year!! Are you able to store filtered Berkey water in the refrigerator In bottles or a water pitcher. If so, for how long. We love drinking cold water especially after coming in from the Texas heat. Thank you for your help.

You can store the water in a fridge 3 - 5 days average when it's opened. If you seal them in glass jars, it can last up to 5 years. But once you open it, you only have about 1 week to drink it all.

HI thanks for the video. I am super newbie to just now researching health and wellness. And I another youtuber mentioned getting a this item for clean water. Is this the same or better than going to these local Water Stores and filling up the 5gallon jugs??? Or is it cleaner? Thanks!!!

Question for anyone: when installing the primers into the upper casket does it matter if they are perfectly straight? (i.e. mine right now are touching the sides of the casket). I have a travel berkey that I am just beginning to install. Thank you!

You inspired me to get a Berkey! Should the Berkey completely empty/filter the top chamber of water or does it fill it as more water is emptied/used out of the bottom chamber?
