What about the body damage you left with the jack stands? Professional mechanics, I think not.

Great video with two glaring exceptions. As others have already commented, jack stand placement did body damage, and always change the filter when changing the fluid, which in this case is the oil pan.

The plastic full length, plastic rocker panel moldings are damaged. Just focus on the video when stands are put in place and vehicle is lowered onto them. Also check when the vehicle is raised and the stands are removed, this shows the damage. DUH!@@themodernweediest4274

Hello, thanks for the video. It helps me. Greetings from Germany. Have a great time
How did u change filter without new pan
Amen brother!! Thank you so much ; Great video you guys helped tons
Does the drain plug use the same t40 used on the drain pan bolts?
Thanks 😁
Do not out Jack stands where these guys did. Makes the rest of the information questionable.

Does this manual also work for a 2019 Dodge Challenger RT? 5.7 Hemi.
You guys lost me at that body damage you caused. That’s not where you put the Jack stand fyi
On a Charger there is one pan bolt that is partially blocked by the transmission mount. I got mine out but had to use a torq bit with a 8mm wrench. Could be a better tool to get it but I didn’t have it at the time. Just fyi. Oh also drained about 5 quarts out. FYI.

So you refilled with 5 quarts also? And what kind of charger do you have?

@@JonathanDiaz-vm5mb I have a 2016 Charger R/T. I reused the old oil I drained out. Was suggested by a mechanic I know. He said my trans has been treated rough by previous owner and the clutches my slip with new oil. I already had a small bit of slippage. I think I may do it again but use new oil next time.

Awesome thanks!
Do you only use 1 quart?
Great. If you have the 8 spd. Now how about the nag1 5 spd. 08 thru 14.
Is this a 5.7
I have dodge Charger 2015, Mechanic told me don't change 100% oil. just remove 25% and add 25% new oil and drive. So kindly advice.

Hate to break it to all the ones concerned about about the jack stand and body placement, but there's where you do in fact place the jack, it's a unibody car, you have to put the jack on the pinch weld. That rear diff jacking point is bunk though, never jack up a car with independent rear suspension, solid axels are okay though.
@tankergod464

That’s the spot, but that’s not how to place the jackstands. They need to be turned 90 degrees.

I just use one of those slotted rubber biscuits wedged into the jack stand...
how many quarts would i need for a 5.7 charger?
@darielmuino9558
9 ай бұрын
Just put it until you hit the screw on the side, start the vehicle so that the pump works and refill, make sure that the car is on a flat surface.
There is no body damage guys!!! Challengers have a plastic skirt so what you are seeing is the plastic giving way to allow the stand to support the car on the pinch welds. The skirt is made to set lower so that your pinch welds are covered and cannot be seen.
Could someone tell me how many quarts of transmission fluid I would need for a 2016 dodge challenger 3.6 sxt plus? Yes I will be replacing the pan filter while doing this drain and fill........
@JoseLopez-lj3yl

You're supposed to changed the filter with the new pan
Did I miss the transmission filter replacement?
@marshallartz3194

I wondered the same: why drop the trans pan if they weren’t going to replace the filter (which on this transmission is integrated so replaced along with the pan.) It’s also good practice to loosen the fill plug first, so you don’t drain the fluid then realize “oh, the filler plug is stuck so I can’t add fluid.”
@alexjeon2180

The filter is integrated to the pan. So the new pan will have the filter built-in.
Dude....the side skirts.....wow!!!
Did yall pay for the body damage

So the manual doesnt say what tools the job require? Interesting
Why was I just told by a dodge dealer that the 8hp70 don’t have any recommended maintenance like this? They also said your not supposed to do it? Where they lying? It’s a 2015 challenger rt 8at

Most of these cars come with transmission fluid that is good for the “lifetime of the vehicle,” but usually they mean the lifetime of the warranty. You for sure should change your transmission fluid regularly, unless you’ve got about 150k+ miles on it, then just leave it alone.

Those jack stands have recalls!! They're dangerous
This mostly wrong for a 2016 Challenger 8 speed. The Pan and filter are integral. Also, the "gasket" is an o-ring integral with the pan itself. Everything about filling is correct.
I have two mechanics claim the transmission fluid on a Dodge Challenger SXT should never be changed and can last the life of the vehicle. That is BS!
The filter is built into the pan you didn’t even change it . From the jack stands I would not take any advice off this video . Get a new pan and change the trans oil and you good .
Let me find out you left those Jack stand marks on my car
If you jacked my challenger like that I would of charged you
Holy cringe! That jack stand placement is terrible.
Nah! I wouldn't want to damage my cars body like that! But thanks anyway for the information and education on maintenance.
Best part is under the challenger (on the frame not on the pinch welds) it has a little arrow pointing to a spot specifically designed for jack stands. So you dont do exactly what these amateurs did to these poor rocker moldings.
Wow. Damage to the rocker moldings. That's not good.
Don't dent the car.
So "professional"
He just drained brand new fluid..
This video is stupid... LOL HOW TO SMASH YOUR ROCKER PANELS!!!

Make sure you don’t have an aluminum differential because the car is NOT to be jacked up from there!
