is it possible between iPads? or between an iPad and an iPhone?

It's not sharing the photo but it's sharing the contact instead. Both iPhones are on iOS 17.5.1

when i do it with a picture that i want to share, it does not share the photo but instead share my contact card. how do i fix this ? or is there any bug ?

Selected the photo you want to share> tap air drop button > put two phones head to head

But the contract share is showing again and again when i am going to share something in proximity ways.😢

Yes!! But to share other things, first open the file then tap share button and then connect phones.

NameDrop, like many other iOS 17 features, only works on selected iPhone models compatible with iOS 17. At WWDC 2023, Apple announced that the iPhone X and previous models won’t get the iOS 17 update. So, if you are trying NameDrop on iPhone X or any previous models, it will simply not work. Similarly, if the other person doesn’t have iOS 17 installed on their iPhone, they won’t be able to receive contact information using NameDrop.

Its need to update into ios 17?
