Select All is available for all other folders. Just not for Recents. It appears to be by design so one wouldn't accidentally delete every single one of their photos by accident.

Nicely done. Thank you. Just a caveat, I had to rewind several times to realize you are not tapping with your thumb. You are taping the select button and then pressing your thumb on the last photo and dragging your thumb across the rows, stopping while still touching the screen with your thumb and clicking on the top of the screen. The dragging vs tapping is where I got stuck. FYI for the next viewer...

Perhaps Apple should just add a Select All button instead of fat fingering your precious photos. Wait... that would be too intuitive.

It’s not working :( It scrolls up but doesn’t select

Android feature since 2007, but with android u dont have to select each photo, u just press "select all" and Voilá u just selected 12.158 photos in 0,000001 seconds. I keep wondering why its not included in iOS after so many years, right next to missing option for setting different volumes for different notifications (ringing, sms, alarm!).

Tap photo at bottom right, lift finger off screen, tap photo to the left of the currently selected photo and quickly slide finger diagonally upwards towards the middle row left side, don't lift finger off screen, use another finger to tap top of screen in the middle.

Did not work for me either. When I tried to select more than a few photos and scoll up, it opened a menu (Copy, Share, Favorite, Duplicate, Hide, Slideshow ...) Could not get past this menu. Tried 5 times.

Ducking THANK YOU! There is select all on deleted photos, but not on normal photos!!! Why??!

How can we do this nowadays? This no longer works on iphone. When you hold down to select a photo it now pops up another menu and no longer lets you click and drag to select more than one 😢

Another stellar example of why Apple is dead to me. Selecting all will take most people 10 tries to get this to work. It's frustrating, it just wasted a whole lot of your time, you had to look it up, and Apple could have just given you an optional button to press. But no- THIS NONSENSE INSTEAD.
