I'm Canadian and I'm fortunate enough to have a thirty year career in construction that helped me in completing a patent application with an incredibly decent patent agent/lawyer for under $1,800. And I made a prototype for under $200. Either way, FINDING a company to buy your invention, whether an idea on paper or a working prototype is the mountain to climb. Where are these magical companies? How many dozens of Google pages of companies do you have to sift through and still end up without a company willing to buy or even licence your product? It's next to impossible. Where is that resource list of manufacturers interested in buying newly invented products? Because internet searches are loaded with outright scammers or other companies willing to help only to find their fees at the bottom of a series of attached articles. Do you want to help your students? If so, offer up the resources that will lead them to reputable companies interested in buying or licensing their ideas so it is mutually beneficial. If you have it, I bet it's a very short list. PS: Stop telling people what they don't need, when they clearly need a good portion of what you're talking about. Signed, Clearly Frustrated

I’ve got a tool that would work wonderful😊 and all Golf Carts, Electric! I wonder if I should be getting a hold of Yamaha EZGO Club Car? Or should I be getting hold of Snap On, Matco, Napa AutoZone, tool manufacturers or auto parts stores? If Yamaha buys it, it would be theirs and then we could license it to the other golf cart companies? That’s how I would like to see it go? Or I could go to the tool company where I got this idea and it would just be a add an app?

But even signing NDA doesn’t prevent someone from taking the idea after you show them. You win by hopefully having a patent lawyer back you with enough $$$. Then you need to prove that it’s your idea and NOT an alternative they came up with. It all seems very risky especially cause they know they can crush you.
