Tip #1: 2:00 - Don't focus on money, focus on visibility. Tip #2: 3:34 - Niche down; focus on it. Tip #3: 4:50 - Free stuff is okay, IF it has a purpose. Tip #4: 7:00 - Monetize anything. Too many people doing the same thing -> do something different -> tip#2 Tip #5: 9:15 - Invest in your brand.

Theres no competition when you have your own style💯

People forget that networking is just a huge thing. You need to connect to your local scene, you need to talk to people in your own country. All my sales, period (so far), have been from networking and not beatstars/youtube. It's been hitting up rappers, giving out free beats to them and growing with them. Great video, it's good to know i'm on the right path.

1. Visibility over money 2. Niche down. Identify your audience 3. Free 👍 But with a purpose, build an email list to start 4. Monetise anything - mix, artworks, sample packs, drum kits - look at yourself, build a broad arsenal to monetise. 5. Invest in your brand as much as your music. A good gift need good packaging.

I started learning music production because of a video from Simon Servida and you! Uploaded my first beat at the end of january but I did not make a sale yet sadly. I lost my job and really feel like this is now my true vocation so I stopped playing pc games and all my time goes to my new career! Been uploading pretty much everywhere from Soundcloud, Audiomack, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Beatstars, Airbit and my own Beatstore Page + I now use Distrokid. Being busy so much really helps me with keeping my sanity and even though I haven't made a single dollar yet, Its still worth it for the feeling of getting better at something. Unsuccessful but blooming :D Thanks anyway Mr Talenti, your videos have helped me start my journey and I intend on getting God-Tier skilled!! A guy can hope ;)

I just listened to your beats, they are good, but I think that you should put some rappers in the title so people can find you easier. If you start uploading "Pop Smoke type beat" every day or every other day, you will get more views and subscribers. When people look for beats, they usually look for a beat that a certain artists uses. I would recommend you trying that, and see what happens.

I’ve been looking for other ways of creating new revenue streams, and This video gave me some fantastic new ways of thinking. Appreciate it! Definitely subscribed.

I think another useful tip could be " don't do this just because you think you will make tons of money from it, do it because you have a passion for music". Because when you make music just to make money and living from it but you don't really have the talent or passion for it, it's then just same as any other 8 hours a day job in my opinion.

I partially agree with the get comfortable in front of the camera thing. It's gonna hep, since people are usually distrustful of anyone not showing their face in general, and those videos with beatmakers doing their thing are still doing good on instagram. However, I am not gonna do that since not only I feel weird in front of a camera, but also because if you make quality music and you have solid branding, you're gonna do just fine in terms of sales. Hiding behind your desk is not a good idea indeed, I actually encourage you all to spend some time in an actual studio with artists and connect with them on a personal level, this is gonna get you work and their trust. Great video overal though :)

Unfortunately for most people it's tough to get into a studio with anybody. For example I live in Italy in the middle of nowhere, there are no decent artists out here and there are very few studios. For someone starting out getting in those situations might be incredibly tough and not even considering how expensive studio time is! I strongly suggest to build a brand online first, become comfortable with talking to people and addressing an audience. It will make everything much easier down the line!

the camera thing is actually very helpful i did a video of myself and it was nerv-racking in the beginning but after awhile you almost forget its there LOL but very fun non the less after watching the video myself of ME, i think the hardest part about it is actually showcasing your skills in that way. i watch other producers and i do things while they make beats only listening to what they make. and its fun can't wait to start producing in this sorta way cause it WORKS

so amazing watching this immediately after watching your first 2018 video "how I made $1000" your hard work has really paid off, thanks for sharing your experience

I still use the Beatstars Pro Page hosted on my custom domain for all my beats, sound kits and everything else I sell. It works perfectly!

Other ways to make money that i can think of are affiliate links, youtube ads, sponsorships, kits, royalties, sync licensing & consultations. A lot of those options are only applicable when you build your personal brand up tho, minus the sync licensing. Curious to what you have to say in the future video!

When selling beats, I notice a lot of producers do a 50/5 split with that artist. Why can’t a producer just sell a non exclusive license to be able to stream/digital downloads via a fixed amount of streams/sales. I don’t like the idea of the publishing split on top of that, as I feel it’s something I would do when I collaborate with artists outside of my beat selling business
