Jaquan tell me about it. I’m so short with big legs and butt. I have a hard time finding jeans that fit my waist with the correct length. Or the length is awesome but the waist is childlike. Designers forget about my size. My perfect size would be 38/28. 40/28 in some clothes. American eagle does well for me when my size is instock. I’m so gonna try this.

For someone who is self taught I'm really impressed. Great job! I have 1 suggestion for you...always do a back stitch at the beginning and end of any sewing job. The back stitch is what's really going to lock it in so you don't have your seam coming out after a couple of washes. That's my 2 cents but I think you did a great job. Thanks for posting.

Chris Quiroz I would recommend a Brothers sewing machine. I wouldn’t buy one with a bunch of stitching patterns. Alll your really gonna use is a straight stitch and a zig zag stitch. I would actually invest in a really good iron. A nice flat surface area is key to a good stitch.

I've just tapered 5 pairs of my favorite brand of pants because they don't make them tapered. I eyeballed it and drew the outline before sewing it. Very helpful tutorial video. Please do make more sewing tutorials. We have the same sewing machine and scissors as you do so this video is perfect for me to learn from. I started learning how sew by making lip reader face masks I'm now selling on eBay and my teenaged son asked if I can learn how to taper his jeans and other trousers when I found your video. Thanks so much for sharing. Update: I tapered a pair of sweat trousers based on your tutorial for my son and he was happy with the results. Thanks again for the tutorial. One thing I did before commiting the actual sewing was to use safety pins on the lines I drew so he could try the fit since I didn't want to mess around with my seam ripper tool if it was too tight.

STEP 1: Understanding that manufacturers make clothes for everybody so they fit no one. STEP 2: Realizing your clothes need to be tailored for money by a man or women with a cost. STEP 3: Do it yourself!

Thanks a lot! I tried this just now for the first time and I am happy. I complained about my jeans being too baggy for me, and now I made them too skinny for me. A little more practice and I'll find the sweet spot. Great tutorial for sure!

Excellent work dude. One note for all those trying this out. Be sure the pants your using as a guide are inside out as well. This is to ensure you don't accidentally run permanent marker down the side on the pants you're not altering. Most will say this is a given. However, it's easy for one to make this simple mistake when they're so excited to try this out. Let's be honest.... we've all made silly mistakes big and small. Solid video. I’ve dealt with having a little thicker thighs my entire life. It ruins buying the right size for me so I have to search my ass off for jeans that fit how I like. I have just recently came to the realization to size up / buy a wider Jean and then tailor them so I can have some extra room in the seat and thigh while getting that tapered look down low 💪

The tapered modification definitely look more stylish. Makes you look taller too.

@@peewee3030 a lot of hate in this video. Much more creative than typing text or uploading an image to Teespring and saying you have a clothing line. You can design your Jean's, custom make a shirt to match the Js and step out. Respect this man's hustle.

id also suggest this to be done with jeans that are stretchy, makes it so you can make them pretty snug and not worry about them feeling too tight. doing this with something like a levi denim would make getting your feet in the bottom kinda hard without adding a zipper. you can also make a zipper pant tutorial lol. LOTS of people want those .

This is awesome man, thanks for the video. I actually have the opposite problem than you were describing as my legs are like chicken legs and jeans are always too big and never tight enough. I like a slim Jean, not skinny. And also I'm short, 5'5 so finding pants that fit is a challenge. I'm finally trying to learn how to tailor my own pants. So I can feel comfortable in them. Appreciate your tutorial!
