Thank you for the upload! This was the FIRST non-BS video I've found regarding seeing through clothes with a night vision enabled camera. Has anyone thought of using an IR *spotlight* in conjunction with one of these cameras?? Or, is it possible to convert a 500,000candlepower+ spotlight into an IR spotlight using some type of lens or filter??

Thanks, I have a video on where I use what is called a ghost light from a company. It's the brightest IR light I have found. Can light a field up at night. Never tried it during light with the filter though. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKlnxbFrXbaop5M.html

This is the technique I found very handy to resolve a problem as I am diabetic. The problem was that when injecting insulin into my stomach I would sometimes hit a small bunch of surface Capillaries, which then would bleed and cause bruising and be quite painful. With the IR camera I can see through the first layers of my skin and see the capillaries beneath it in order to not hit them. I can also see some areas where there may actually be more nerves because there are more Capillaries together. So this is a very practical use for this..

SamuelCalifornia Well the problem with it is that it is just easier to do multiple sticks until you find a place that doesn't hurt so much because you don't have enough hands to pinch the skin, hold the needle and hold the camera at the same time and if you are like me Injecting insulin is very private. I won't let anyone be near me when I am injecting.

Perry Haen I think you missed my point. you can see just a little below the surface of the skin with these cameras, so you can see the shallow veins and capillaries.(mostly capillaries) and so you won't hit them and leave a huge bruise. It is very helpful.

Apparently some or the other University is South Africa developed a device with which you can see right through a wall. I'm telling you!!! Can you explain what "night modes" has the panasonic 850? This is strange because "x-ray vision" normally can't be obtained from commercial cams, because they have exposure locked to max value during the "night mode"... ( With Sony cameras, for example, some hardware modifications are needed... ) May be the W859 let you control the exposure?

NicTaylor00 I've pulled apart Sony Action cams. AS15's and turned them into Night vision. Then I use a headband that holds an IR light on one side of my head and the sony on the other. Would work great for bow hunting and stuff but can't zoom. If you are looking for high quality zoom the W850 is probably the best that I know of for the price. Pulls the light in well. Think I have another vid on here of watching a buck at almost dark.

NicTaylor00 With the stock IR light you probably wont see much farther than with this either. I just went up back with it and a zoomable 5 watt IR light I bought on ebay and would say I can watch a wild rabbit eat on grass pretty good at 50 feet or more and zoom in on it while keeping focus. The only other camera I know of that would be better is the Sony AX100 which has nightshot but a larger sensor. 1 inch which would pull more light in. But it costs over twice as much.

You Perv! I wonder where I put my old camcorder. Yeah, I'm going to do it just for the cool noise. That's cool & creepy.

I see someone commented on these cams being able to see thru skin. Mine could see through skin in a mostly dark room in night vision mode without the ir filter. I stumbled across this accidentaly while filming q girl. I could see every vein in her body.

I admit that I clicked on the video because I thought the girl was cute... She is, but I liked the video. I've known that this was possible since maybe the late 90's (maybe) when I think it was a Sony camcorder actually made it into mainstream news. I thought the creepy music was a nice touch and the sunglasses disappearing was something I've never seen before.

I well know X-ray vision can actually make trasparent and see-trought: fog, dark glasses and dark windows of cars. On "kaya optics" site there are some intersting examples and explanations, if you are curious about...
