Just got back from a 13-day visit to Iceland last Thursday. What a beautiful country! I fell in love with the country and I am missing it already. Definitely coming back.

Amazing!
Already told my husband I’m asking for wake-up calls every night while on our tour in Iceland. Be there in Sept, can’t wait!!

Where we stayed you could sign a list if the lights showed they would wake you up
There have been a few reported sightings already since mid August 2023 at different parts of Iceland. The nights are starting to get dark enough for proper sightings. The 2023-2024 aurora season seems to be off to a great start!
We are going in days! I can't wait!
We were there in October 2017. We did see the lights during our trip, but just barely, kind of a smoky gray wisp that showed up green in the camera. But finally on the last night before leaving, the Icelandic meteorologic website noted the arrival of a huge solar outburst KP level 9!! We drove out to the golf course west of Reykjavik and lay on the car for an hour watching the dramatic green and pink ribbons come and go finally fading out into a diffuse green "fog". So cold and windy but worth every shiver.

It was always my dream to see the Northern Lights lights and that dream came true, last October, 2022 on a guided tour in Iceland. I want to go back! It's such a beautiful country.

How was your trip? I'm going in October and wondering what the weather was like when you were there

For me, the weather was perfect. It was the lower to mid 40's... No snow. October is considered a month for rain, thankfully it didn't rain while we were there.

Just got back home to England from Iceland. Had a spectacular display for a few minutes one evening. All the tourists in the city were standing still looking up in awe. Hope to visit again 👌

Are you booking any tour guide for your trip??
I'm going with my sister in Oct and it's our first trip together without the rest of the family. We hope we see the lights but won't have the time to do the tour from Reykjavik. If its meant to be we'll see them on our road trip. Thanks for all the great info in your videos. So excited to go.

If you had to choose one hike would you choose Kerlingarfjoll or Landmannalaugar?
Can you recommend the Northern lights tour in Iceland ? There are so many options and dunno what to choose
Thank you for the super helpful video! I’m thinking about going to Kirkjufell for northern lights in late Sept. Its on your video thumbnail but this location is not listed in your blog. Can you please clarify or confirm if this is a good location?
I booked a northern lights/golden circle tour with G Adventures for mid October. I booked it then because the Moon will be a new Moon or just a sliver. You could have mentioned that it's darkest with a new Moon. Of course I do worry there's going to be clouds. My fingers are crossed.

This is a good planning detail. We were there Christmas week and the moon was full and brilliant. So even when we escaped the city lights, we still had bright moon and winter weather clouds. We did not see the aurora but while waiting we DID get a visit from a pair of horses who came right up to us in the dark. It was amazing and totally made up for it. Iceland is truly great, and we know we'll be back and get another shot.
What’s the likeniess in early January? I’ve read you probably will see them but we’ve booked now and are going for the lights lol!

All about aurora at www.icelandwithaview.com
Hi Jeannie. Ill be going there 9/10. 5 days stay. Want to cover golden circle, blue lagoon, food walk and waterfalls. Not sure what hotel to use that is not far from doing all this, but also that it does not cost an arm and leg

Hi Faizana, Here is a link for all things March!! You can also visit my website and use the search bar for more information! icelandwithaview.com/?s=March
Yes, you sure need patience, never know when the the lights decide to start their dance, and I guess that's the beauty of it :) For me it feels quite the same as picking mushrooms in the forest, finding amber etc. Its like some kind of treasure hunting :P The longer it takes, the higher the reward, strangely..
I wonder how long the aurora are shining in the sky? Few minutes or few hours? Ive never seen them so I dont know how quickly they disappear
@markbrownfield437

The aurora is notoriously fickle and will come and go as it pleases. It may sputter for a while and as soon as you give up it can burst across the sky. The lights may move around and change rapidly.
Hello. Are there some app that's helping track them?
@IcelandwithaView

Yes, there is one called Aurora, it's very helpful in tracking; also, many accommodations will give you a call if the aurora is spotted if you request it.
I have a close friend who husband died a few months ago she asked me if I could spread some of his ashes in the sea while I'm there. What are the rules for me to do this ? I'm coming to Iceland in October and can't wait to come.
I’m going in December, so worried that I might not see the Northern light😢
I would love to move there but I'm disabled I'm wondering how the healthcare system is there because I learned my social security is transferable but I still couldn't afford it alone I would have to meet someone or have a roommate and I would have to know that the healthcare system is good could you comment on that

Needed video not photo
The trackers are useless. Seen the lights when the rating was a 2 and not when it was a 4. It's mostly luck.
